...is a sodium chloride free shampoo that is used to prepare the hair for a Simply Smooth treatment. Pre-clean purifying shampoo may also be used
before a color service for better color penetration. Multiple shampoos are necessary to prepare the hair cuticle for a treatment, as it will help remove
any buildup from styling products, environmental impurities and mineral deposits as well as other residues without drying or damaging the hair. This
product can be used on any type of hair that needs to be purified.

Wet hair, apply a generous amount of pre-clean purifying shampoo, lather. Work the lather through for approximately 30 seconds. Rinse, and repeat 3-4 times to properly prepare
the hair for a Simply Smooth keratin treatment. When working on hair with tighter cuticle layers, 4-5 shampoos may be necessary. If hair is very resistant, place the client under a
warm dryer with pre-clean on the hair and a plastic cap for several minutes. Virgin hair may require as many as 6-7 shampoos for proper preparation. Pre-clean purifying shampoo
may also be used on hair for preparation of any chemical services, as it will remove residue from styling product, minerals, and medicines.

…is a botanically blended, keratin infused primer used to soften and even out erratic textured areas, creating an even textured canvas before the
application of a Simply Smooth keratin treatment. Pre-soft keratin primer was created to help resistant coarse hair accept the keratin treatment.
Therefore, it is absolutely necessary to use pre-soft keratin primer on resistant, virgin, or healthy colored hair, since these hair types are not primed
to accept keratin into the hair. Virgin hair (no chemicals or color) has very little keratin depletion and is the most difficult to treat. Using Simply Smooth
pre-soft keratin primer allows the cuticle to pop wide open resulting in the acceptance of the added keratin. This product is to be applied to the hair
prior to using Simply Smooth pre-clean purifying shampoo and should also be applied to the strongest textured, most resistant areas first. Simply
Smooth Designer Line pre-soft keratin primer is to be used in conjunction only with Simply Smooth keratin treatments.

Steps for pre service: Apply gloves, place small amount of pre-soft keratin primer in bowl.
Step 1: Using a bowl and brush, apply the pre-soft keratin primer with brush to areas in need of priming (softening) and work with gloved hands until thoroughly distributed. Leave on 5-20 minutes, according to the quality of the hair, and how strong the texture is you are priming. NOTE: This product should NEVER be applied to the
scalp. Step 2: After priming, rinse a full 5 minutes. Step 3: Shampoo hair with Simply Smooth Pre-Clean Purifying Shampoo. You must shampoo 3-5 times, dependent on
how resistant the cuticle is, and how large an area you are priming. NOTE: When priming only temple area on virgin hair, Pre-Clean 5 times. When priming a larger area
or the entire head and the hair is color treated, Pre-Clean 2 times. Step 4: Dry hair completely 100% using only your fingers, no brushes or combs, and proceed with the
steps for a Simply Smooth keratin treatment.

PART 1 - PROCESSOR SOLUTION
Step 1: Shake well and apply Simply Smooth Designer Line Smooth and Straight Part 1 1/4 - ½ inch off scalp. Starting in the areas with the strongest texture, apply with a bowl and
brush. Note: A test strand must be performed. Never overlap on areas previously relaxed with sodium hydroxide, or any other straightener or relaxer, as breakage can occur. Virgin
application; apply mid-shaft, go back and apply 1/4 - 1/2 inch off scalp, and finally apply the ends. Retouch; apply 1/4 - 1/2 inch off scalp, up to the line of demarcation, always
careful not to overlap.
Step 2: Allow to process up to 35 minutes on coarse, resistant hair, up to 25 minutes on normal hair, and up to 20 minutes on hair treated with 10 or 20 volumes. This product is not
intended for use on high lift tinted hair, double processed hair, or excessively highlighted or stressed hair. Test strand always at 5 minute intervals, as timing is only a guideline. Knot
the hair, if it slips out, process longer. Repeat until the desired reduction of curl is achieved. Rinse a full 5 minutes before step 3. Note: If desired result is wash and wear straight
hair, the knot should not slip at the end of the processing time. Be careful not to over process hair. Processing times vary due to hair types and may require longer or shorter processing time.
Step 3: Shampoo hair twice using Simply Smooth Pre-clean Purifying Shampoo, without irritating the scalp. A third shampoo is necessary if excessive product is in the hair, or medication is present. Do not condition.
Step 4: Do not condition. Choose which method of keratin finishing to use according to the desired end result.
PART 2 - FINISHING SOLUTION
KERATIN FINISHING FOR RELAXED TEXTURE:
Step 5a: Proceed by removing 75% of the water from the hair. Spray the Simply Smooth Designer Line keratin finishing solution into the hair. Be sure to cover with a plastic cap for
15 minutes to saturate. Comb blend. Dry 100%. Select the cure iron to be used, buffered or regular, to cure the keratin finishing solution into the hair. Select a temperature between
400-450 degrees with a regular cure iron. Note: Use lower temperatures on fine or stressed hair with a buffered cure iron. Use higher temperatures on stronger, coarse textures.
Pass the iron 3-5 times, looking for the three S’s. Shine, Static, and Slip!
KERATIN FINISHING FOR WASH&WEAR STRAIGHT HAIR:
Step 5b: Dry 100% on medium heat. Select “the cure” iron to be used, buffered or regular. Select a temperature between 400-425 degrees. Iron a section flat using a carbon comb
(heat resistant). Spray Part 2 keratin finishing solution and comb blend using a separate tail comb. Continue this pattern until all the hair is flat and sprayed. Beginning in the nape,
dry hair 100%. Re-iron beginning in the nape using 400-425 degrees. Continue to iron looking for the three S’s. Shine, Static, and Slip!
Step 6: Client must not shampoo their hair for 2 days (48 hours), and must maintain with Simply Smooth xtend keratin maintenance system for best results.

NOTE: For resistant, curly or erratic texture, use Designer Line Pre-Soft Keratin Primer before pre-clean purifying shampoo to even out the canvas and open the cuticle for further
texture reduction.
Step 1: Shampoo with Simply Smooth Pre-Clean Purifying Shampoo 3 (chemicals) to 5 (normal) times according to integrity of hair and quality of texture. Leave product on hair for
30 seconds between shampoos (focus on shampooing the hair not the scalp). Rinse 100%. Do not detangle or condition the hair. Step 2: Blow-dry hair 100% dry keeping the cuticle open WITHOUT smoothing. DO NOT use brushes or combs. Step 3: Separate hair into 4 sections (forehead to nape and over the ears). Note: Be sure to wear gloves. Shake bottle well and begin applying the treatment with a tint brush from scalp to ends, using 1/8th" to ½" partings (based on density), starting at nape. If using Xpress, spray sparingly on to
the hair. Using a fine tooth comb distribute the product evenly through each parting. Each parting should be comb blended into the moist sections below it, before applying more
product. Less is more. As areas begin to dry, do not add more product. Continue until all the hair is moistened. Average application uses 2oz. Step 4: Cover hair with plastic cap.
Let set for 15 minutes to completely saturate. After saturation, using large rake comb, blow-dry hair downward 100% dry. DO NOT use brushes. DO NOT blow-dry toward clients
face. Step 5: To begin curing process, re-section the hair into basic four sections. Start at nape of neck using 1/8” to ½” partings (based on density). Flat iron hair from scalp to ends,
with temperature set between 375-450 degrees F. For normal-resistant hair, use 420 to 450 degrees F and for fine hair use temperatures set at 390 to 400 degrees F. For over
processed hair, set as low as 375 degrees F. Cure Simply Smooth into the hair by repeating several passes per parting with the flat iron. For virgin hair, flat iron 5-7 times per parting. For color treated hair, flat iron 5 times per parting. For highlighted hair, flat iron 3-5 times per parting. Work your way through each section of the hair. Always look for the three
S’s- Shine, Static and Slip to know the hair is properly “cured”! The Cure irons are recommended, as they are designed to cure Simply Smooth deep within the cuticle. However,
using different plates produces different cures: Ceramic- light cure. Tourmaline- medium cure. Titanium- strong cure. Use your professional discretion according to hair texture. If you
feel the comb dragging at any point, finish with a technique called “polishing.” To “polish,” pick up larger vertical sections and re-iron half way down the hair shaft to the ends. This
technique may be done anywhere you feel the comb dragging. Step 4 & 5 Conduct service in well-ventilated area. Step 6: Inform client with the proper instructions to allow hair to be
transformed into the desired smooth results: For 72 hours, do not wet hair. (if using Xpress formula, do not wet hair for 24 hours.) No hairclips, hair bands or pins. You may refresh
and re-fluff your hair with Simply Smooth xtend between dry shampoo or a blow dryer and a round brush. Step 7: Direct client to maintain hair with Simply Smooth’s xtend maintenance system designed to prolong the Simply Smooth keratin treatment.
