Luke ARMS – Independent
Luke Arms lives in Cardiff with his wife Michelle and their two young children, Josiah
and Katherine. He’s the IT manager at a Christian school, runs a photography business
and volunteers with Heartfelt, a bereavement photography charity he helped to
establish in the Hunter region. In the past, he’s been involved with youth ministry,
music and lay preaching at the local evangelical church he’s attended for the last 12
years. This is Luke’s second political campaign; he also ran as an independent in last
year’s by-election for Charlestown.

Jodie HARRISON MP – Labor Party Member for Charlestown, Labour
Jodie Harrison is passionate about doing what she can to make our community a better
place to live and work in for our children and future generations. Popularly elected as
Mayor of Lake Macquarie City Council in September 2012, Jodie also holds the following
Board positions:

Arjay MARTIN - Independent
Arjay works for Australia's largest private research firm, and runs his own photography /
film making business. He is the former Treasurer and Executive Board Member of The
Place: Charlestown Youth and Community Service, and former Board Member and
Community Representative on the Lake Macquarie City Council Community Advisory
Group. If I were to be voted in, I would vote on what is best for the people, as opposed
to back-room wheeling and dealing to get my own self-aggrandising legislation passed.

Jane believes we need politicians to be genuine representatives of the community who
hold the same values as the community and who act in the best interests of the

Jason PAULING – Liberal Candidate
Jason Pauling is the Liberal Candidate for Charlestown in the March 2015 State Election. The
father of three works for a local financial services firm and is an elected councilor on Lake
Macquarie Council. Previously, Jason has served as the President of Business Charlestown as
well a former Director of Hunter Tourism. As part of the Mike Baird Liberal Team, Jason will
work hard to ensure essential services such as health, transport, and education
are delivered to Charlestown.

Brian TUCKER – The Christian Democratic Party
I am an experienced Pastor and Clinical Counsellor with a Paramedical background. I am
married to Catherine and have two children. The care of the community has been the
primary focus of my Ambulance career as I have served with diligence in many roles
including as a Disaster Commander, Station Manager and Clinical Educator, receiving both
the Australian National Medal for Service to the Community and also the NSW Ambulance
Medal for diligent service. As the CDP candidate for Charlestown, I am a voice for families
and the working class and a voice for values and ethics. Serving Charlestown is at the heart
