Fri 17 - KF, Friday Flicks, PADDINGTON, 10am - noon 12th & 19th April 2015 Over recent days and Easter I was privileged to spend time with various friends in the South and South West. Amongst the delight of seeing bright yellow banks of daffodils; the various greens as trees and shrubs begin to burst into life; the blue, white and grey of the sea; was the special delight of seeing the gentle powdery yellow of amazing carpets of primroses. A particular joy, however, was to see young lambs; some nestling up against mum but many running and jumping around as they investigated their surroundings and experienced ‘being alive’. Imagine the special joy that Mary must have felt on that Resurrection morning, outside the tomb, as Jesus spoke her name. The Lamb of God, her friend and master was alive! Also during his many post Resurrection appearances Jesus came to the disciples in a locked room but Thomas was not present. Thomas remained unconvinced of what the others had witnessed but a week later he was present when Jesus revealed himself again. It must have been with special joy that he was able to say to the living Jesus, ‘My Lord and My God’. In this period of post-Easter, if you are claiming Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, are you enjoying the ‘being alive ’ that Jesus gives us? In your innermost being do you know that special joy that he has promised to all who follow him? May we all know that life and joy, and so much of both, that Jesus just radiates out to others. David R-J ‘Humble yourselves therefore, under God’s mighty hand that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.’ 1 Peter 5: 6-7 Praise God for all those who heard the challenge of the Easter message.
