Dear Parents,
The days are getting longer, the birds are
singing, and gardens are in bloom. A sure sign
that summer is just around the corner.
Kingswood Elementary has been a very busy
place during the third term. There is still a lot of work to be
done, but there is also much celebrating to take place in the
very near future. Please continue to pay close attention to
classroom newsletters and school information going home, as
there are many events and activities planned during the final
six weeks of the term.

We are very
thankful to our Kingswood parent community, and as a
small token of our appreciation, we’d like to
treat you to a muffin for breakfast on the
morning of Friday, May 29!
Please
consider coming into our library for a treat,
or we can catch you as you drive through
our drop-off area in the parking lot.
McNAIR PAC MEETING – JUNE 9: Parents of students
entering Gr. 8 may be interested in attending McNair High’s
PAC meeting which is scheduled for 7 PM on Tuesday, June
9. All are welcome to attend!
CONTINUING EDUCATION – SUMMER 2015: If you’d
like a brochure, feel free to pick one up in the school office!
ATTIRE REMINDER: At Kingswood, mutual respect for
ourselves, each other and the environment, is one of the most
important aspects of our school culture. Therefore, staff,
students and parents are expected to dress in a respectful and
responsible manner for all school activities. Clothing worn by
students must be appropriate and should not be distracting to
others, e.g. no tank tops, bare midriffs, and/or backs. Also
clothing should not contain offensive words or pictures.
CLASS PLACEMENT INFORMATION: If you have
information that you would like us to consider when placing
your child in a class for next year, please take this opportunity
to submit this information to us in writing by May 29. This
information will be shared with teachers during the meetings
to make up preliminary class lists for September. It will not
be possible to consider information or requests submitted by
parents in September once classes have been
established. Please do not request specific teachers - at this
time we do not know which teachers will be teaching which
grades next year.

EARLY DISMISSAL @ 2 PM – MAY 19: Students will be
released at 2 PM on Tuesday, May 19, so teachers may attend
their annual general meeting.
WELCOME TO KINDERGARTEN – MAY 27: Our
Welcome to Kindergarten open house will be held on
Wednesday, May 27 from 1-2 p.m. We look forward to
meeting our newest Kingswood students soon.
YEAR END COMMUNITY FAMILY PICNIC: JUNE 10:
We hope your entire family can join us for our year end
picnic on Wednesday, June 10 from 6-8 PM. This is a potluck community event. Hope to see you there!
SPORTS DAY – JUNE 12: This special event will be held
on Friday, June 12, rain or shine. Parents are reminded that
there will also be a food day and all students will be
dismissed at approximately 1:30 p.m. on that day.
