KIOA’s Greatest Car-X Giveaway (6/7/14 – 7/26/14) (:60)
The “KIOA’s Greatest Car-X Giveaway” is a custom contest in which up to
140 people will qualify for the grand Prize of a 2015 Ford Mustang valued
at $28,000. There are two ways to qualify for the Grand Prize. First, patrons
can enter at various remote appearances between May 29th and July 19th.
Listeners must completely fill out a registration slip on site at the remote
stop. One entry will be chosen at random as a qualifier from each remote’s
entries. Only one entry per person per remote appearance will be
accepted. Times and locations of the remotes will be broadcast on KIOA
and listed on kioa.com through the duration of the contest. Any changes in
times or locations will be broadcast by KIOA in a timely manner. KIOA
officials reserve the right to determine which entries are valid and correct.
There will be up to 60 total qualifiers. Second, beginning on Monday June
29th, listeners can be the 10th caller at 3-1-2-1-9-3-3 when the cue to call is
played on air. The cue to call will play up to 10 times each weekday
between 6am and 5pm. There will be up to 80 total qualifiers on air.
Qualifiers are up to the sole discretion of KIOA. The Grand Prize giveaway
will take place on Saturday, July 25th at Car-X at 1400 NW 86th St in Clive,
Iowa. At the giveaway, all qualifiers will have 30 minutes to guess the
number of toy horses in the glass case. Each qualifier gets only one guess,
and once their guess is submitted it cannot be changed. The guess that
comes the closest without going over will be declared the winner. If there is
a tie then a random drawing will be held between the tying numbers to
determine the winner. The qualifiers must be present at the grand prize
giveaway to win. The winner of the grand prize giveaway will win the prize,
subject to the discretion of KIOA. This contest is open to all eligible Iowa
residents 21 or older with a valid Iowa driver’s license who has not won
anything on the station valued at $600 or more in the past 6 months. NO
purchase necessary. Prizes are not transferable or redeemable for cash.
Winners must present valid state ID and w9 to collect the prize. All fees,
state and federal taxes are the responsibility of the winner. Employees of
KIOA, the Des Moines Radio Group, Saga Communications of Iowa, LLC,
and its ultimate parent company, Saga Communications, Inc., their
advertising agencies, affiliates, contest sponsors, employees and
immediate families of each, and employees of all media of mass
communication within a one hundred mile radius of the KIOA main studio
are not eligible to win any contest. Immediate family includes the spouse,
great-grandparents, grandparents, parents, brothers, sisters, children,
grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of the employee and his/her
spouse. This also includes individuals for whom the employee is current
legal guardian. The grand prize winner is responsible for all taxes, title,
license and all miscellaneous fees associated with the Grand Prize. KIOA
will make reasonable attempt to make the grand prize available to the
