Kiron Reid: "ZNU is changing and I like it!"

The day before of his return to home, Zaporizhzhya National University
guest from Liverpool shared his impressions on staying at the university
and in our city. Kiron Reid for the third time visited Zaporizhzhya and
again worked as a teacher and a volunteer at ZNU. A lawyer by profession,
gave lectures not only for future lawyers but also for students of the
Faculty of Foreign Languagrs and the Faculty of Journalism. Sociable
Englishman not transcend by academic hours but also during the month he
had meetings with Heads of ZNU Departments as well as communicated
with the university administration and visited student's concerts.
Graduate students of the Law Faculty awarded diplomas for the "English Legal Skills" course

On December 4, the best graduate students of the
Law Faculty were awarded diplomas for the
successful completion of "English Legal Skills and
Introduction to Legal English Practice" course
conducted at Zaporizhia National University by
the honorary research fellow of the Liverpool Law
School Kiron Reid. The course was supported by
the university administration and ZNU Foreign
Languages Center.
At the Faculty of Law discussed the development of the Legal Aid Institute in Ukraine

On December 2 there was a discussion of problems considering a development of Legal Aid institution
in Ukraine and Great Britain’s experience in this field. The discussion took place in terms of a

Law Faculty students learn about the peculiarities of criminal cases consideration in the UK

On November 14, a regular meeting of the debate
club on "The peculiarities of criminal cases
consideration in the courts of first instance: the
experience of foreign countries" was held at the
Law Faculty of Zaporizhia National University.
This time the guests of the event included
professor of the Liverpool Law School Kiron Reid
and barrister Frances Wilmot, who were currently
visiting our university and agreed to tell our
students about the features of the judicial system
of Great Britain.
The features of professional legal training in the UK discussed at the Law Faculty

On November 12, a roundtable meeting on "The
peculiarities of professional legal training in the UK"
took place at the Law Faculty on the initiative of its
Dean, Professor Tetiana Kolomoiets. The event was
attended by the guests from the UK ­ barrister Francis
Wilmot and professor of the Liverpool Law School
Kiron Reid ­ as well as graduate students of the Law
Faculty.

Kiron Reid, who currently teaches at Zaporizhzhia National University, expressed a desire to visit ZNU
press­center and newspaper office. During his visit he shared his impressions from staying at our
university and spoke about the work of press service of the University of Liverpool.

Research fellow of the University of Liverpool teaches at ZNU

From October 4 Zaporizhzhia National University
hosts an honorary research fellow of the Law
Faculty, the University of Liverpool (Great
Britain), Kiron Reid. He was invited by the
administration of our university for teaching at the
Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Foreign
Languages to help implement the new Concept of
learning foreign languages.
In ZNU working language courses for teachers

On the basis of ZNU Foreign Languages Study Center will start annual language courses for teachers.
As in the previous year, the language groups will operate as a fee and for free ­ as part of the Pedagogic
Mastery School. More than 100 teachers of our university have expressed a desire to learn (or improve)
a foreign language, more than 70 of them will be able to study for free.
