Aloha Koloa Elementary School Parents,

On behalf of the Koloa Elementary staff, we extend a huge mahalo to all of our school
volunteers who provide hours of time at our school and activities. Our annual Volunteer
Breakfast was held on Friday, April 24th, in the school cafeteria. For the 2014-2015
academic school year, we totaled approximately 139 volunteers. As of Thursday, April 23rd,
these volunteers have logged in 1910 volunteer hours. We are fortunate to have these
volunteers who provide another leg of support for Koloa’s students and staff. Thank you to
the kitchen staff for the awesome breakfast.

Our Career Day was held on Wednesday, April 22nd, at Koloa Elementary. A variety of
community members volunteered their morning to present their experiences and
knowledge in their chosen field of work. Ms. Miyashiro, school counselor, organized and
put together these activities along with our staff, for our students. We thank her for her
efforts and the collaboration she bridged with our community and parents.

May Day is scheduled for Wednesday, May 27th, beginning at 9am. Please make a note
of this!
!
Parents, we need your help. Please do not park in the bus parking area. In addition, as a
safety reminder, for students who are dropped off and picked up, please help us with
student safety by having your child(ren) enter and exit vehicles using the curb side car
door, this includes Paanau Road as well. Please do not double park and drop off
students. Also, while on school grounds, please remind children to WALK their bikes,
especially on the sidewalks alongside the library. Always remember to wear a bike helmet.

Congratulations to our coaches and track team! Our school came in 3rd place overall The
Mayor’s County Track Meet was held at Vidinha Stadium on Saturday, April 18th, 2015.
We would like to thank our coaches, Lia Nishikura, Laurie Erickson, and Keoni Pau for
helping out with Koloa’s track team. Thank you to all of our parent supporters who
attended and cheered the team on!

pictures that you don’t want or money for pictures that you would like to purchase.
