The only
Renaissance
D
o you know the story? The Vila Vipolže was built as a
hunters’ mansion for the counts of Gorizia and long
used for summer vacations. A few centuries later, it
had become a fortified Renaissance villa with Venetian
decoration. It was passed down by its owners who hailed from
three worlds: the Slavic, Romance and Germanic.

I
t had been a sleeping beauty for a long time, hosting only
a few dances and wine festivals. However, now that the
construction scaffolding has been removed, the villa has
awoken from her slumber. A truly cosmopolitan venue, this
new regional cultural congress centre now opens its doors
for its maiden season.
Welcome
to Vila Vipolže!
We welcome you to the Brda region, with
a view of its vine-covered hills. We have
now completed the glorious renovation
of the exterior and interior of the only
Renaissance villa in Slovenia, giving its
beauty a new lease of life.
“Our Brda Tourism, Culture, Youth and Sport Board will also be located
in these premises, which just call for meetings and experiences. The
people who organise events held in Brda are proud to be inspired
by the Venetian architecture, modern interior and dramatic story of
this villa. We invite you to join us and create some unforgettable
memories. Feel the magic when you open the windows in Piano
Nobile, as the Venetian gentlemen named the first floor with the best
views. Therefore, this is the place where your and our partnerships
will thrive. Cheers and here’s to strong ties!”

Education
Brda is a region of inspiration,
and we are proud of the great
artists who were born and have
worked here.
Even with the latest of
technology, love for business
goes hand in hand with good
food.
All the rooms at the Vila
Vipolže offer breath-taking
views of the Brda hills.
The room of Alojz Gradnik, a poet of light and
darkness, is dedicated to all the hosting artists at
Vila Vipolže. The cultural esprit of the villa will be
enriched by works of art from gallery at Dobrovo
Castle dedicated to Zoran Mušič, the only Slovenian painter to have frequented the elite cultural
circles of Italy and France in the 20th century.
Our business meetings need innovation, kindness and personal touch more than ever. At the
Vila Vipolže you can gain as well as consolidate
your reputation of an excellent host to meetings,
events and congresses, a host who knows just
how much business friendships need freshness
and hospitality of the Brda region.
The reference to these stunning views is almost
obvious, since they and broaden our horizons.
The Vila Vipolže will also host numerous training events in well-equipped study rooms or
large conference halls. New environments enhance creativity, and we are sure that you will
enjoy organizing educational events here.

Ties between
worlds and people
The Vila Vipolže tells a story which comes
from the very heart of the Slavic, Germanic
and Romance worlds. The identity of the Brda
region, a land of invigorating moments, has
been carved out by international winds.
Discover …
“Discover this world, which is solid, warm and open. Just like our
stone, grain and juice, which have found their way from the poetry of
Alojz Gradnik, a poet from the Brda region, into the brand of the Vila
Vipolže. We believe that your events, business meetings and training
sessions need a certain character.”

Experience …
Taste …
“Welcome to a land of gently rolling hills and picturesque villages,
which to us are even more beautiful than those depicted in postcards
of Tuscany. They are smaller, but lovelier and more personal. The
connection between the people and the land is legendary. Allow us
to help you forge your connections. Meetings and events are more
pleasant, and run more smoothly, at Vila Vipolže.”
Erika Kovačič Marinič, Manager of Brda Tourist Information Centre
“May our vines, which have been growing in the Brda region since
Roman times, also become a symbol of life and progress for you.
Vila Vipolže hides an arched wine cellar, replete with bottles of
wine produced by Brda winegrowers of worldwide renown. Fresh
local dishes will be prepared in our well-equipped kitchen, which
provides for fuller and more exquisite tastes.”
