KANELAND HIGH SCHOOL CHEERLEADING 2015‐2016 TRYOUT INFORMATION Tryouts for the 2015/2016 KHS cheerleading squads will be held April 14‐16, 2015. Any student that will be attending KHS for the 2015/2016 school year is eligible to try out. Please complete the attached forms and bring them with you the day of tryouts. What: KHS 2015/2016 Cheerleading Tryouts When: April 14, 15, & 16 2014 Time: 5:15‐7:00pm April 14 & 15: Learning Cheer, Dance, & Jumps. Reviewing tumbling & stunting. April 16: Tryouts Where: KHS AUX gym (Enter in the main entrance and there will be signs directing you to the correct location.) Results will be posted at the high school and middle school main entrances Thursday April 16 after 9:30pm Tryouts will consist of performing designated skills (cheer, dance, jumps, stunting, tumbling) in front of judges, and being scored individually upon their performance. All individuals will be placed in a group to perform in front of the judges. Everyone has the opportunity to try‐out for Varsity/Competition but only a select number of girls will be taken. Parents please read all information compiled in this packet for a complete understanding of what is expected of your student as well as financial obligations should your student be chosen for the 2015/2016 cheering season. Student requirements for tryouts: Attend practice sessions to learn tryout routine & cheers Be on time for each session Dress appropriately : T‐shirt (Kaneland – No tank tops!), black shorts (no jeans), white ankle socks, white tennis shoes, no jewelry, hair pulled back away from face in a pony tail Listen to facilitators & coaches; be respectful of all around you, including others involved in tryouts Come prepared for practice, no gum chewing, eating, etc. Bring water– we have a lot to cover and will be working hard Please note that all practices & tryout sessions will be closed to anyone other than judges, coaches, assistants, administration & participants. FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS: Varsity/Competition Cheer Camp & Choreography (July 27‐31) ‐ $300 JV Camp ‐ $150 (July 27 & 28) Cheer Shoes ‐ $75 (if needed) Miscellaneous costs, including hair bows, socks, etc. – estimated @ $200 Warm ups – $120 Camp/Practice Wear ‐ $150 Tumbling Lessons ‐ $135 KHS Sports Fee ‐ $150 (paid to the school) Please note: I will try to keep these costs as low as possible. We will fundraise to cover as much as we can. A deposit of $100 will be due for camp/practice wear at the April 21st meeting.
