He is the author of “Of Course You Can Play the Fiddle” series and wrote a number of “Canadian Old-Time Fiddle Hits Volumes.” C olin B uchart Born and raised in the Shuswap/Thompson Okanagan where he has performed and instructed fiddle, Colin now makes his home in Vancouver, BC. While he grew up playing primarily Canadian Old-Time and Bluegrass fiddle music, his playing style is still heavily influenced by his Scottish and Irish roots. A ustin C astle Austin started playing the violin when he was 11 years old. He maintains a small class of violin students primarily in the Swift Current area and is a regular performer in southwest Saskatchewan and has appeared as a guest artist with the Amati Quartet in Saskatoon. JJ G uy This award winning fiddler, has a strong grassroots following which has made him one of the most popular fiddlers in western Canada. JJ has played with numerous groups and bands while passing on his skills to others at the many fiddle camps. His fun upbeat stage show, makes him a strong and often repeat performer at many festivals. Now, Tahnis lives in Regina, Saskatchewan where she teaches fiddle and guitar at “Music in the House.” She performs in a duo with Ray Bell, and has become known for her energetic fiddle style as well as her warm and intimate vocals. Ray lives in Regina where he teaches at Music in the House, a music school that he founded in 2002. He is in high demand as a guitar instructor at fiddle camps all over western Canada and has toured extensively including tours of Canada, U.S. and the U.K performing at folk clubs, bluegrass and folk festivals. P atti K usturok Patti Kusturok, a member of the Manitoba Fiddle Association Hall of Fame, is a 3-time Consecutive Canadian Grand Masters Fiddle Champion. She was the first woman and first Western Canadian to win the title. Patti teaches and performs throughout the continent and has just released her newest CD - "Milestone." A lysen G erman Alysen started playing the fiddle at age 8 She recorded her first CD at the age of 17 and is currently working on writing music for her second. Her musical styles include Traditional Old Time, European, Metis, Celtic, Appalachian, Bluegrass, Country, Folk, and Classical. J ennie B ice Fiddler, singer, composer and educator Jennie Bice is at home in many musical genres. From frenzied boot-stomping Irish craic, country & eastern, old timey, and roots and rhythm styles, to world fusion, rock, jazz and blues, Bice began playing fiddle at the age of four around the family piano, and never stopped. She is devoted to musical exploration and artistic inspiration. An absolute delight to watch perform.
