The Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual
Assault, more widely known as LaFASA,
was founded in 1982 to offer support
advocates and survivors of sexual assault.
It is a private nonprofit organization that
gives statewide representation to sexual
assault crisis centers, as well as other
agencies and individuals concerned
about sexual violence. Our staff at LaFASA
work to end sexual violence, which affects
everyone regardless of gender, age, race,
income level, sexual orientation, ability
and/or lifestyle. LaFASA is dedicated

• Education. LaFASA offers a variety of trainings,
workshops, and webinars to increase the knowledge and
skills of sexual assault advocates, allied professionals,
and community leaders.
• Advocacy. LaFASA gives statewide representation to
our Sexual Assault Centers through legislative advovacy.
• Prevention. Through trainings and programs, LaFASA
works with local organizations to end sexual violence.
• Outreach. LaFASA works to increase public awareness
about sexual assault through community events, social
media, newsletters, and Sexual Assault Awareness
Month (SAAM).
• Support. LaFASA offers support to survivors, advocates,
and sexual assault centers through technical assistance
and information services, and referral services.
