April 17th 2015 Dear Grade 6 Parents/Guardians, Please take note of the following presentation by a representative from Island Sexual Health, which will address various Learning Outcomes in Grade 6 HACE. If you prefer that your child NOT participate in this workshop, please contact me asap to discuss alternative arrangements. As part of the provincial HACE [Health and Career Education] curriculum, your son/daughter will participate in a Healthy Living and Healthy Relationships workshop on Monday, April 20th, 2015. The workshop includes a review of physical, social and emotional changes during puberty, with an emphasis on maintaining good hygiene and health. Human reproduction and conception is briefly introduced when reviewing the reproductive anatomical structures and how they work. The workshop will be facilitated by Michelle from Island Sexual Health, a trained facilitator.
