Remember, when it comes to senior discounts, the age of senior eligibility is all over the place just like speed limits, ranging from 50 to 65. Discounts are likely to change periodically and may not be available at all locations. It may be best to call and ask before you go. Grocery Discounts* *Most discounts do not include tickets, gift cards or prescriptions. Kroger – 5% senior discount on Wednesdays. To receive the discount, shoppers must be over the age of 60 and enrolled in Kroger’s Senior Rewards Club. Publix – 5% discount on Wednesday to seniors 60 and older. Restaurant Discounts* *Discounts vary by location and can change over time. Applebee’s – 10% discount for seniors ages 60+ with a Golden Apple Card. Arby’s – 10% discount or a discounted drink, ages 55+. Backyard Burger – FREE senior drink with purchase. Burger King – 10% discount and/or a discounted drink for ages 60+. Captain D’s – Sunday and Wednesday are Super Senior Day. Guests 62+ can choose one of eight meals, with a small drink, choice of two sides, and hushpuppies for $4.99 or less. Carrabba’s Italian Grill – 20% discount on Wednesday with an AARP membership card. Chick-­‐Fil-­‐A – FREE small drink with purchase or a 10% discount. Chili’s – 10% discount for ages 55+. Cracker Barrel – does not offer senior discounts but seniors may order from the children’s menu, which features discount prices and smaller portions. Culver’s – up to 10% off regular priced items for seniors 60+. Denny’s – AARP members receive a 20% discount off their total check every day from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. Also coffee is $1 per person for members and their guests. Dunkin’ Donuts – most locations offer a senior discount in the form of a discounted coffee or drink. Others may offer a 10% discount. El Pollo Loco – 10% discounts for seniors 55+. IHOP – 10% discount on senior menu, which includes smaller portions and discounted prices for those 55+. Longhorn Steakhouse – Adults 50+ can order from the senior or kids menu. O’Charley’s – 10% discount for seniors 60+. Sonic – 10% discount or discounted drink those over 60. Subway – Adults 55+ will receive a 10% discount on meal purchase or a discounted drink.
Steak & Shake – 10% discounts for those 50+ on certain weekdays. Wendy’s – Adults 55+ receive a discount of either 5 or 10% or a free discounted drink. Retail Store Discounts* *Discounts can vary by store or department and may change over time. Belk’s – 10 – 20% discount available for senior citizens age 55+ the first Tuesday of each month. Bed, Bath and Beyond – 10% discount for seniors aged 55+. Hallmark – 10% discount for seniors on certain days of the week. Kohls’s – offers a 15% discount to shoppers 62+ on Tuesdays with an AARP card. Michael’s – 10% discount on Tuesdays with AARP card. TJ Maxx – 10% discounts available certain days of the month for those 55+. Walgreen’s – offers a discount once a month for Balance Reward members 55+ and all AARP members. Day of the month varies by location. Prescription Discounts* *Discounts vary by location and can change over time. CVS – CVS Pharmacy Health Savings Pass program available for $15 per person annually. This is not an insurance plan; it’s a prescription savings program.
Members can also receive a 10% discount off Minute Clinic services. Walgreen’s Prescription Savings Club – members get special discounts off the case prices of thousands of brand name and generic medications as well as other benefits when they use their Prescription Savings Card. Target – The Target Prescription Savings Program entitles seniors (and others in the household) savings of 10-­‐50% on prescription medications (off retail). One membership works for everyone in the household and you can use your card at any Target Pharmacy. In addition, if you sign up for Target’s Pharmacy Rewards and fill five eligible prescriptions, you’ll get a certificate for 5% off a day of shopping. Activities and Exercise Discounts* *Discounts can change over time. Frist Center for the Visual Arts – seniors age 65 and older are always admitted for $7, but on Senior Mondays (the third Monday of each month), admission is $5 for ages 50 and older. They also receive a 15% discount on gift shop purchases and in the café, as well as $3 parking. The Parthenon – admission is only $5 for senior over the age of 62. Chaffin’s Barn Dinner Theater – offers a great senior matinee tickets for $19 with coffee, tea and soft drinks. Seniors may bring a brown bag or order a box lunch for $8.50. Cheekwood Botanical Garden & Museum of Arts – offers a $12 day admission for those over 65, or a special Senior Household Membership that allows for two adults and grandchildren under the age of 17. Country Music Hall of Fame – offers a $2 discount off the adult admission for seniors 60+. Nashville Zoo -­‐ $2 discount off the $15 adult admission for seniors 65+. Silver Sneakers – membership provides FREE use of the area’s Nashville YMCAs.
