AAUW FUNDS
AAUW’s many funds, including named fellowships, research and project grants, and
the Legal Advocacy Fund, provide the means
to advance education, research, and selfdevelopment for women and to foster equity
and positive societal change. A complete list
of funds is available on the AAUW website.
The Las Cruces branch also maintains an
endowment through the New Mexico State
University Foundation, proceeds of which
fund our annual scholarship for a returning
woman student seeking a baccalaureate degree. Your branch NMSU Endowment Chair
can assist you in making a contribution.
Contributions to all AAUW funds are tax
deductible as permitted by law. Visit

Making a difference for women
and girls since 1923
Founded in 1923, the Las Cruces branch is
the oldest branch in the state of New Mexico.
It includes members with diverse interests,
educations, and backgrounds.
We hold general membership meetings monthly
from September through
June, featuring topical programs. In March, we
sponsor Girls Can!!, a career exploration conference for sixth-grade girls
throughout Doña Ana County. This conference emphasizes what girls can do if they
complete their educations.

Many interest groups also meet throughout
the year, including book groups, bridge
groups, cultural trips, a Diner’s Club at local
restaurants, a movie group, international dinners, and NFL fan groups.
The branch provides a scholarship annually to a returning
woman student from Doña Ana
County who is pursuing a baccalaureate degree.
Membership in AAUW-Las Cruces includes
membership in the state and national AAUW
organizations. AAUW-NM activities are announced in the quarterly newsletter, the Roadrunner, provided to all branch members.
Membership in the national organization provides additional benefits, including the biannual Outlook magazine, affordable insurance plans, discounts from various vendors,
and many more. Most of all, membership
makes you part of a network of more than
100,000 individuals who are dedicated to improving life for all women and girls.
