WITH Dr Maksymilian Del Mar Senior Lecturer in Law and Philosophy, Director of the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (CLSGC) at Queen Mary University of London 25 MAY 2015, MONDAY 4.00PM – 6.00PM FEDERAL BARTHOLOMEW CONFERENCE ROOM, LEVEL 1, FEDERAL BUILDING FACULTY OF LAW, NUS (BUKIT TIMAH CAMPUS) The Workshop will consider the factors that have contributed to what is often regarded as a contemporary identity crisis for legal theory, and reflect on the resources available elsewhere from legal history, comparative law, the study of transnational law, and the perspectives of pluralism, in accounting for the crisis and also in contributing to possible directions for legal theory. ABOUT THE SPEAKER Maksymilian (Maks) Del Mar is Senior Lecturer in Law and Philosophy, Director of the Centre for Law and Society in a Global Context (CLSGC) and Academic Fellow (2013-2016) of the Honourable Society of the Inner Temple. Dr Del Mar’s research interests include: 1) transnational legal theory; 2) legal reasoning; 3) the history, methodology and metatheory of ideas about law and society; 4) legal education, especially the role of the arts and humanities in law schools; and 5) legal and social normativity.
