ABOUT THE PROFESSORSHIP
Queen’s Law is home to the some of the best minds and educational
opportunities in the country. Business Law is one of the areas in
which we are currently solidifying our role as a leader in Canada.
This Professorship will provide key leadership for our business law
program by enhancing our teaching offerings in the area of business
law and building the Faculty's national and international reputation
for excellence in business law research.
Thank you to all our alumni and your support in raising an
endowment of $1.5M in support of this new Professorship. This is the
Faculty’s first named Professorship, and a tremendous achievement
for Queen’s Law.

About David Allgood
David Allgood, Law ’74, is Executive Vice-President
and General Counsel for Royal Bank of Canada, and a
former partner at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt.
Since 2006, David has been an instrumental presence on
the Dean’s Council, as both Chair and Past Chair, and has
provided leadership and insight in both re-engaging alumni
in Faculty life and guiding the school through changes in
the legal profession. His contributions to Queen’s over the years have
been enormous, including the teaching and mentorship of our students;
matched only by his charitable work with the Holland Bloorview Kids
Rehabilitation Hospital, Pro Bono Law Ontario, and Legal Leaders for
