Kelly Blair-Matuk trained as a scientist, completing a PhD

Kelly Blair-Matuk trained as a scientist, completing a PhD in Psychology/Neuroscience at Dalhousie
University before accepting position in the Department of Biology at Queen’s University. In 2008, Kelly
moved to the Office of the Vice-Principal (Research) at Queen’s as the Coordinator of Research Activities
and Communications where she continues to fulfill a variety of functions, including the coordination of
national and international prize nominations for outstanding faculty, serving as a managing editor of the
Queen’s research magazine (e)AFFECT, coordinating high-profile events and announcements, developing
communications materials for internal and external partners, and assisting on special research
initiatives.
At the heart of this work is a strong interest in both the scholar and the scholarship, and finding the
most effective ways to promote both.
