MAKING A SPLASH — LCC POOL
CASEY HAMILTON / POOL MANAGER
LLC Members,
Hello everyone, my name is Casey and I am very excited to have been given this opportunity to serve as your Pool Manager. Thank
you. Special thanks to Rheanne, Mike, Chef, Panko, Bill, Graham, Kristen, Ryan, Leo, Cindi and Billie Jo for making me feel so welcomed
my first week and expediting the administrative process. I would also like to thank our Social Board committee for taking time from their
schedules to personally interview me, thus allowing me a greater insight into the operations of this Club.
We have an exciting season ahead of us jammed full of activities for all ages. I have lots to do starting with a few immediate goals:
extending pool hours, establishing a comprehensive lesson plan for our swim instructors, and an abundance of night time activities. Along
with these goals my priorities are to get to know you personally so that I may better serve your suggestions and concerns. Our pool will be
about service, safety, and smiles.
Warm regards,
Casey Neal Hamilton
Pool Manager
CLUBCORP CORNER
ClubCorp Experience from Tim and Kristi Plumb after their trip down South:
The golf was outstanding and we were treated like members everywhere we went. The golf cost us between $18-$30 per person
each round, which was the cart fee. One of the highlights of our trip was playing The Currahee Club in Toccoa, Georgia, located less
than two hours from Atlanta. It was one of the prettiest courses we have ever played -- even in the winter -- and cost us $38 for both
Kristi and me. We saved anywhere from $100-$150 per round for the two of us each time we played golf, as we only had to pay
member rates for cart fees. Generally, we saved about $100 per dinner for the two of us. We ordered four-course meals at all dining
locations, except The University of Texas Club which had a buffet the night we dined. Our total bill at this club was only $12! We ate
a $160 dinner at The Plaza Club in San Antonio and paid only $25. Dinner at The Houston Club cost us $21 and would have been
around $120.00. The House of Blues Show in Orlando, Florida is a $105 value and cost us $0 and was a great show! We only had to
pay taxes and gratuity when we dined (except for The House of Blues).

As a part of our Strategic Plan, The LCC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the club has enlisted BG Consultants, Inc. to conduct phase one,
which consists of a master plan of our existing clubhouse. This plan will show
us the current state of our clubhouse, as well provide an outline of necessary
future repairs. A town hall type meeting will be scheduled to gather feedback
from our members about phase two, which could be a possible clubhouse remodel. Feel free to ask a board member about this exciting time in the history
of Lawrence Country Club or stop by the office to look at the documents and
proposal furnished by BG Consultants that outlines the future of your member
owned club!

RHEANNE ETKEN / GENERAL MANAGER
There is a lot happening here at LCC! For us, summer is right around the corner, and we are busy preparing! We are working on some big things
right now… we have begun the resurface and repainting of the pool, we have begun the building survey process, we have begun the refinance of the
loan, and we are diligently working on a long term strategic plan for the club. So many great things happening, it’s hard to keep you all updated on all
of them! The pool will be ready to go early this year; we plan to open it as soon as weather permits, so keep an eye out! We will also offer extended
pool hours with the pool staying open until 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. We have been working on some new pool rules which we will roll out in
April. Also coming in April will be the tennis lesson schedules so you can start your summer planning. Junior golf is where it’s at this summer, so
make sure you check those programs out as you are making your summer plans –they are all on our website! This year we are really focusing on
growing the game of golf, so if you have ever wanted to learn, now is the time! We will be offering everything from beginner classes to happy hour golf,
so no excuses this year! We want to see you enjoying your membership at LCC!
A reminder that the Golfing members’ food minimums will increase for March to $50/month. This was passed during the annual stockholder meeting
that was held in November. A great time to get out to the club and try the great things chef Todd is cooking up!
I truly hope you are enjoying your membership at LCC. As always, please let me know if you have any feedback for me.

BILL IRVING / GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT
As I write this there is still snow on the ground and it’s freezing
outside. Hopefully by the time you read this the grass is getting
greener, the sun is warm, and we are playing golf!
As golf course superintendents, we can get hyper-focused on
the grass growing, agronomics and management of the staff
that maintains the course. It is easy to forget that, in reality,
we are in the service industry. Our job, our goal, is to provide
each member with the best possible conditions - to provide a
fun golf experience for everyone who plays the course we are
in charge of.
We have been working hard to plan some great events for you
this year. Please be sure to go to
www.lawrencecountryclub.com and check out our calendar of
events. This is will be your number one source to know what is
happening at LCC this year.
On March 18-20, from 12:30-4:30 we are having a Junior
camp. The first part of the day will be spent working on various parts of the golf game. There will be a snack and then our
new pool manager, Casey, has fun activities planned. There will
be scavenger hunts, games, and a focus on physical fitness and
nutrition. The cost is only $75/junior. Ages 6-13 are welcome
to attend. Call the Golf Shop to sign up!
One of our missions this year is to get more people playing golf.
To that end starting on Saturday, March 28th we are starting a
Get Golf Ready class for beginners. The class will run five consecutive Saturdays from 2-3p.m. The class is designed to introduce people to the game of golf. If you have never played or it’s
been a long time since you’ve played this class is for you. The
cost is $99/person for the five week session.
Handicap season begins March 1st. Remember to start posting
your scores!
The LCC Hole in One Club…each time a person makes a hole
in one, everyone in the club gets charged $5. The person making the hole in one gets half of that money in Golf Shop Credit
and half goes towards their bar bill. It’s customary to buy everyone who is in the club and on site an adult beverage! Check
with the Golf Shop to make sure you are signed up.
At the most recent Board of Directors meeting it was decided
that sixsomes are no longer allowed from April 1st-October 1st,
except for Wednesdays. Thanks in advance for your cooperation.
The Golf Shop at LCC is now on Twitter! Follow us
@GolfShopLCC for course updates, special deals in the shop,
golf tips, and other exciting news!
Ryan and I look forward to getting the chance to play golf with
the membership this year. If you are looking for a game or
need a fourth we would love to play!
Happy Golfing!
Kristen
Where I often struggle in the management of the course at
LCC is cart path status for daily play. There are many
instances when, during the golf season, we are more liberal
with allowing carts to be off the cart paths even though the
course may be wet. We want the members to have fun and
not be inconvenienced in any way. We can better do this in
season when we have more staff to fix damage that may occur
from cart traffic, and we have more vigorous growth of the
turf, making any damage oftentimes unnoticed.
During the winter, conditions limit our ability to allow carts
off the paths. Soft, wet, mushy soil in the winter without
active turf growth to help stabilize the soil will create more
opportunity for damage to the course. Restricting carts to the
path in those instances is to prevent unnecessary damage to
the golf course, and allow us the time needed to keep the
course in the best possible condition.
One of the things that makes LCC unique is that our cool
season fairways drain very well so we can usually get cart
traffic on them quickly, even during wet conditions. The issue
we run into here are the high traffic areas in the rough that
don’t drain well tend to get soft and rut-out easily, which
makes damage more of a concern.
Please check the cart path status with the golf shop when you
come out to play. With the help of the membership, we can
continue to provide the best possible golf course and minimize any unnecessary damage.
