Use sunscreen SPF 30 or higher (on the treatment area) at all times, throughout treatment when outdoors. Stop all waxing, electrolysis or tweezing at least 4 weeks before beginning treatments. Hairs must be in the follicles in order to absorb the laser energy. Shave the area 1-‐2 days prior to treatment. This allows just enough growth for the technician to see the area to be treated but eliminates longer hair from interfering with the laser. 412 B Boston Road Billerica Center, MA 01821 Phone: 978.663.7400 www.advancedlaserconcepts.com Laser Hair Removal After Care Post Treatment Instructions: 1. A mild sunburn sensation with accompanying swelling and redness is common. Tills can be alleviated with the application of cold compresses for 15 to 20 minutes as needed. Aloe vera gel is also soothing. Aquaphor ointment should be used on any crusted or blistered skin. 2 Make up may be used after treatment unless there is blistering. It is recommended that new make up be used to reduce the possibility of infection. 3 Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of hyper/hypo pigmentation for two months. Use sunscreen SPF 30 or higher at all times throughout the treatment and for 1-2 months following. 4 Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. DO NOT USE any other hair removal methods on the treated area throughout the course of your laser treatments, as it will prevent you from achieving your best results. You may continue to shave. 5 Avoid scented lotions, exfoliants, hot water and excessive scrubbing. Treat your skin gently. Postpone swimming in chlorinated pools, hot tubs and activities that cause excessive perspiration until redness has resolved. 6 Anywhere from 5-30 days after treatment, shedding of the hair will begin to occur. This may appear as new hair growth. However, this is not new hair growth but dead hair pushing its way out of the follicle. You can help the hair exfoliate by washing or wiping with a washcloth. 7 Call your technician's office with any questions or concerns that you may have after the treatment Results: As your technician explained at the initial consultation, exact results are difficult to predict. Best results are achieved by working closely with your technician, follow recommendations, keep regularly scheduled appointments and inform your technician of any changes in your medical condition that may complicate treatment.
