6. With the right set of
skills…
•
Two Founders have 10 years of combined experience in investment
banking
• Huge help to raise money
• Experience in executing fast
• Good at analyzing the market and the competitors
• Finance bit of the business was covered
•
But the real success was the skill to recognize what we were
lacking and the skills to hire the right team to bring:
• Knowledge of the ticketing industry
• Online marketing experience
• E-commerce experience
•
Other skills like leadership, team management… were learned on the
job over the past 5 years
7. Recruited in a market where employees do
not have the skills needed…
•
Main e-commerce skills needed include:
• Online marketing
• Interactive design
• Data scientist
• UX specialist
• Programming skills
•
Most of this set of skills are not even offered at schools and
Universities.
•
For some like programming, even thought there is an entire 4 years
career, students come out of it with the same practical knowledge
that a non-uni graduate will get in less than 3 months
•
Our solution: Huge focus on training mainly in the first year but
also during the entire work live.
•
We are doing the job that Universities should be doing
8. To take advantage
of a unique opportunity
•
In the US, after 15 years of development, the secondary market for
tickets represents 20% of the primary market in terms of turnover
($4.5Bn vs $22Bn) with a much higher average margin (25% vs 7%);
•
In Europe the primary market moves approximately €30 Bn annually.
Although the secondary market, established in 2007, has grown
exponentially year after year, it is still well behind the 20% that
it represents in the US;
•
Ticketbis created the online secondary ticketing market in Latin
America in 2012 and in Asia in 2014. Together these create a market
opportunity similar to the one it had in Europe allowing Ticketbis
to become the first real global player in the industry.
