Newspaper Supplement Submission Criteria





the article should provide helpful hints to readers on of the importance of wellplanned, tax-reduced gifts and their positive impact on our communities
highlight will and estate planning techniques that incorporate charitable gifts
raise the awareness on how easy it is to leave a legacy bequest to charity in
one’s estate plan
the article should be 350 to 400 words in total
Each article submitted must have or include:









Content focused on charitable gift vehicles, legal advice relevant to
planning one’s estate, the financial and income tax benefits of leaving a
gift to charity, or donor legacy stories on giving to a charity
Refrain from including in your article details on specific programs and
services offered by your organization
Should not be an advertisement and content that is deemed to be will be
remove from the article or the article will not be considered
The total number of articles chosen for publication will be comprised of
approximately 2/3 on technical advice and estate planning tips and 1/3
will feature donor legacy stories or testimonials
Each article must be accompanied by a colour photo of the author of the
article – preferably action photos rather than head shots, although head
shot photos are acceptable to accompany articles from estate planning
professionals - in a jpg file with a resolution of at least 200 dpi
Additional photos – these photos can be submitted and may be used if
space permits to give your organization additional exposure in the
publication

Byline (author, title, organization)
Photo Credit acknowledgement (if necessary)
The CAGP Greater Vancouver Roundtable has the right to edit articles accepted for
publication in the LEAVE A LEGACY™ newspaper supplement. All submissions will be
considered, however, preference for publication will be given to our LEAVE A
LEGACY™ Partners. Please note that submitting an article does not guarantee it will be
published.
Please submit your article in a Microsoft Word file accompanied by your photos by no
later than end of day Friday, April 10, 2015 to [email protected].
