The month of February will be a busy month in our classroom! We will be
finishing up and starting new units in a number of subjects.
Please note: Though I always give ample time and support for students to
finish their work in class, some students are not using their time wisely.
This has resulted in missed assignments and work that is not turned in.
Those students who are not making effective use of their work time in
class will be bringing work home for homework. Please check your child’s
agenda as I am not able to send Remind messages to individual parents.
Thank you for your help with this matter!

Mathematics
● We are just about to wrap up our addition and subtraction unit!
Students have been working hard on solving word problems
using these concepts.
Science
● The students have been enjoying the many hands-on activities
we get to do in the Simple Machines unit. They did a fantastic
job on their Rube Goldberg machine projects and have been
working on building and testing catapults in class.
Social Studies
● We are well on our way through the next part of the unit, which
involves learning about the six natural regions in Alberta!
Students did an awesome job comparing two regions in a
comparison project.
English Language Arts
● Students have been doing an excellent job of practicing and
studying for their weekly spelling tests. We have been working
on a class book of sequence writing!
French
● I have been truly impressed with the excellent learning that has
been going on in our French lessons! We have been building on
our ability to express basic remarks about the calendar and
weather.
