Review current athletic pre-participation screening guidelines and controversy and explore the role of ECG and echocardiography in the preparticipation evaluation of the athlete. 3. To review the major trials that helped establish current ICD indications and to understand the ongoing issues and unanswered questions with current ICD management. 4. Evaluate the eﬃcacy of current adult heart failure therapeutic strategies in pediatric heart failure and the evolving management of strategies for heart failure in the patient with a single ventricle. 5. Discuss the current management of patients with congestive heart failure and review new medical and device therapies for patients with heart failure. 6. Explain the importance of our profession in advancing AUC for PCI despite inherent limitations with AUC, describe the major clinical scenarios for which PCI is characterized as inappropriate by the AUC and understand that the role of the AUC is not to adjudicate reimbursement but to assess practice patterns and quality of PCI. 7. Aﬃrm the need to accurately assess PCI appropriateness in the United States, to highlight improvements in assessing PCI appropriateness that are feasible and actionable and to review common misconceptions regarding PCI appropriateness. 8. Identify national organizations and their respective missions which can assist local initiatives to increase awareness about cardiovascular disease in women and discuss programs to be adopted on your campus; including patient, staﬀ and community education strategies. 9. Recognize cardiovascular physiologic changes during pregnancy and understand the approach to the pregnant patient with cardiovascular disease.
