As part of Tribute Month April 2015
Centro Cultural César Chávez, Oregon Multicultural Archives, &
Center for Latino/a Studies and Engagement (CL@SE) presents
Milagro’s Bilingual National Touring Production
Join us Tuesday April 14th for a workshop and performance of Milagro’s national touring
production Searching for Aztlán: A Journey to the Past and Present of Chicano Pride
written & directed by Lakin Valdez.
Searching for Aztlán chronicles one high school teacher’s journey to re-energize her
support of the Mexican American Studies Program in Tucson, Arizona’s Tucson Unified
School District which was dismantled in 2012. It is a biting and satirical journey in search
of lost identity and culture! In addition to the play, be sure to RSVP for Milagro’s “Journeys”
workshop, which uses a combination of Boal, commedia and improvisation techniques
to engage participants.
