Dinner & Movie Night Fun Returns
Back in 2011, a lovely little film set in
India came to our theater. We knew it
would be a hit, with stars like Maggie
Smith and Judi Dench, and we decided
to tackle a new cuisine, serving an
Indian feast the evening the movie
opened. Needless to say, our board of
directors were more than up to the
task, and the dinner was a huge success. The moment rumors of a sequel started to swirl, we got
busy planning a follow-up of our own. The Second Best
Marigold Hotel opens at the Liberty on Friday, April 17. For
those lucky enough to get tickets, dinner will be served that
night at 6:00, with the doors opening at 5:30.
Critics have been extolling this new film, many saying that it
brings back what audiences loved from the first movie,
along with several delightful additions. It just so happens
that is exactly what we promise with our dinner menu.
Tickets to both the dinner and movie are $25. They can be
purchased online at www.libertytheater.org, and at the box
office. Just don’t wait to get yours; they will sell out soon.
Forum Offers Great Insights into
Caring for Historic Buildings
If you have an historic building, whether it’s a home or a
store front, you know it takes effort to optimize that
structure’s life span. What you may not know is the specifics
on how to care for your investment, or the benefits that are
out there to help you safeguard it’s future.
The Dayton Historic Preservation Commission and Dayton
Development Task Force have teamed up with the
Department of Archaeology & Historic Preservation to
sponsor an evening at the Liberty with Washington State
Historical Architect Nick Vann, AIA. He and other
preservationists will discuss practical maintenance, tax
incentives and the Dayton Facade Grant Program.
You can even schedule a one on one with Vann, where he
can walk through your building with you, providing specific
suggestions and recommendations. Just contact Karen
Scharer by phone at 509.540.6747 or by sending an email to
her at [email protected].

Yard Sale will Boost Theater Funds
Coming Soon…
The Third Street Yard Sale is returning, this time on Saturday, May 2nd, and the
Liberty will once again participate with a trove of treasures in its Annex. We
will also have lunches available to purchase, keeping you strong for all the great
shopping! The Annex can be accessed off the alley behind the theater.
If you are currently cleaning out stuff you no longer use, consider donating it to
the theater. Each year we make over $1,000 from the yard sale, money that
goes towards our programs. Call Bev Startin at 382-4093 for information.
May 2: Annex Yard Sale. May 7: Dr. Kevin McCauley returns to the
Liberty Theater to share valuable
information about addiction.
May 14: 7PM Fall Musical Information
Meeting. Find out how you can be a part
of this year’s musical.
