This document details the GRP covers approved for use as fixing over damaged or corroded
metal LV Pillars at Distribution substations

Scope
UK Power Networks (UKPN) Asset Management has assessed and approved the following
GRP LV pillar covers and assemblies for use at applicable outdoor distribution substations.

The GRP LV Pillar cover works on the principle of leaving the existing metal pillar in situ,
removing its doors, and installing a GRP pillar around it (as shown below).
