todayannouncedthatithasenteredintoadefinitiveagreementtoacquire
SpenceDiamonds(“Spence"),theleadingdirectsellerofcustom‐made
engagementringsinCanada.LionCapitalispartneringwithIVESTConsumer
Partners,aVancouver‐basedretailinvestorandoperator,whowillbring
seasonedoperatingexecutivesGeorgeJonesandJimSchneidertoleadthe
business.IVESTwillmakeaminorityinvestmentinSpence,aswillcurrentCEO
SeanJones,whowillalsoremainontheboard.Thetermsofthetransactionwere
notdisclosed.
Foundedin1978,SpenceDiamondscarvedoutadistinctivepositionwithinthe
retailjewelleryindustrybygivingitscustomersauniqueandpersonalised
purchasingexperienceatanexceptionalvalue.Byempoweringcustomerswith
educationondiamondsfromhighlytrainedsalesconsultantsanddelivering
qualitystonesatasuperiorvaluethroughverticalintegration,Spencehas
maintainedaleadershippositioninthecategoryforover30years.Thecompany
operatessevenshowroomsacrossCanada,eachofwhichshowcaseover2,500of
themostsoughtafterringdesigns.Spencehasgeneratedexceptionalfinancial
