Watering our own garden
In our hectic working life, we usually are very
responsible and helpful to others. In fact it is very
natural most of us will help our bosses and colleagues
first before we attend to our own work. Just like
how we usually admire our neighbours’ gardens or
got excited when we drive pass by some beautiful
gardens. Many times we neglect our own garden,
causing harm to it! This talk will share some skills on
“how to water our own garden” so that our flowers
will bloom and grass will flourish because life is
ironical where human tendencies to focus on others
are so natural that, to remember to care for oneself,
need effort and skills. Skills on enhancing self-care,
emotional resiliency and managing challenging
relationships based on scientific research positive
psychology will be presented to enhance further the
understand of self-growth and care, focusing on
learning how we relate to challenges in life and not why
the challenges happened.

Personal Effectiveness through Self-Management
Likewise, our journey to realizing our own potential and personal effectiveness also starts with one small little step – understanding
and managing ourselves. By taking this first step, we shift our mind-set from expecting others to change (beyond control) to changing
ourselves (within control). We therefore have the power to make choices that impact and enhance our personal effectiveness; whether
it is managing our working and communication approach, emotions or stress. In short, the key to personal effectiveness and peak
performance is in our hands. In this learning session, we will focus on self-realisation and self-management through the following contents:
•
Managing your personalities preferences, emotions and stress for effective results
•
Realizing your potential by recognizing your talents and strengths through Myers-Briggs Type Indicator®
•
Utilizing team members talents, strengths, communication and working styles to create a positive working environment
•
Recognizing trigger points and trigger factors
•
Understanding the importance of recognizing and managing emotions
•
Making emotions work for you
