Air conditioned). There WILL be classes on CANADA DAY! “WIGGLERS” ~ born ’14 & ‘15 We’ll have fun with songs & rhymes for fingers & toes, bouncing, tickling and peeka-boo. There’ll be instruments for them to explore aurally and orally Puppets & little dances heighten the enjoyment until lullaby time brings a soothing close. Tue 11:00, Wed 11:00, Thur 9:20 “WANDERERS” ~ born in ’13 We try to keep up with their boundless energy with clapping, bouncing, tickling and peek-a-boo songs, as well as finding toes & noses. There’ll be instruments from around the world for them to explore, plus scarves to dance with, and puppets that “moo” or “quack”. But even they need a lullaby now and then! Tue 9:20, Wed 9:20, Thur 11:00 “MOVERS & SHAKERS”~ born in ‘12 Now we add songs & rhymes for budding imaginations. They’ll explore a wealth of global instruments, plus scarves to dance with, musical books, and puppets, until it’s time to rock a Teddy to sleep. Thur 10:10 “FAMILY MUSIC” ~ all ages There’s no age limit; all that’s needed is an interest in having fun making music together! Tue 10:10, Wed 10:10 INTEGRATED ARTS CAMPS: We’ll be at “FITNESS WORKS” (2171 Queen St. E, 2nd floor. Entrance off Lee, next to the Green ‘P’ parking. Air conditioned). Children may be dropped off after 1:00, and picked up from 3:45 4:00. All camps will be led by Jodie (plus one assistant, if numbers warrant), and limited to 12 participants. Music (we take an “Orff” approach) includes singing games, and improvising and playing rhythms on xylophones, drums, and just about anything that can be struck, shaken, or rubbed to make sound! Art includes painting, drawing, sculpture, & collage. Themed snacks are included, but you might want to bring a smock . “I CAN SING A RAINBOW” ~ for children born in ’09 – ‘11 And dance, and paint, and eat a rainbow! Every afternoon, a different colour will be explored. Session 1: July 13 – 17 (white, red, pink, yellow, orange) Session 2: July 20 – 24 (blue, green, purple, brown & black, rainbow) “GLOBAL ADVENTURES” ~ for children born in ‘’07– ‘09 Every afternoon, through Music, Dance, Drama, Art, Stories and Snacks, we’ll explore a different part of the world. We might hop with the kangaroos and play the didgeridoo one day, make igloos and inuksuk the next, and then go to a Mexican Fiesta (no siestas allowed!). July 27 – 31 FEES: ~ Classes: $83.75 ~ Camps: $195 ($375 for 2 weeks/children) Summer ’15 Registration Form There is no charge for infants to attend their older sibling’s class if younger than 4 mo. at the start of the term. Otherwise, they need to be registered, too. If an older child is registered in one of the camps, they may attend their younger sibling’s class free of charge during the week(s) they are enrolled in camp. Otherwise, their attendance can be pro-rated for prearranged “drop-ins”. Placement can only be confirmed once payment is received. NSF cheques are subject to a $25 handling charge. In the case of withdrawals, notice must be received in writing, and there is an administrative fee of $30 plus the pro-rated amount for any classes that have taken place. For camps, there will st be no refunds after July 1 , unless they are cancelled due to insufficient enrollment. She is a Master “Orff” teacher, as well as a graduate of the Royal Conservatory’s “Music for Young Children” program, where she also studied Kodaly and Dalcroze pedagogy. Jodie has taught Music & Movement for the Conservatory’s “Learning through the Arts” program, Chine Drive, Williamson Road and Earl Beatty Public Schools, Young Children’s Creative Movement & Music Classes, and Margaret Fletcher Daycare. She is a Musical Theatre graduate of Sheridan College and has performed in over 50 theatres across Canada, incl. the Royal Alex, the Dream in High Park, Young People’s Theatre, the Charlottetown Festival, and the National Arts Centre. Jodie also studied at Sheridan’s School of Design, and worked as a potter in England for 2 years. She is the mother of two driving age children.
