Responsive Call To WorshipSelections from Psalm 118 John Griffiths, Elder
Leader:
Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; His love endures forever.
I was pushed back and about to fall, but the LORD helped me. The
LORD is my strength and my defense; He has become my salvation.
People: Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The LORD’s right hand has done mighty things! The LORD’s
right hand is lifted high; the LORD’s right hand has done mighty
things!”
Leader:
I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the LORD has done.
The LORD has chastened me severely, but He has not given me over
to death. Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give
thanks to the LORD.
People: This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may
enter. I will give You thanks, for You answered me; You have
become my salvation.
Leader: The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; the
LORD has done this, and it is marvelous in our eyes. The LORD has
done it this very day; let us rejoice today and be glad.

Comfortless upon the cross,
Lives in glory now on high,
We sing for joy, we sing for joy, alleluia, alleluia, alleluia, sing for joy!
Take our sins and guilt away, alleluia!
That we all may sing for ay, alleluia!

The Word
of
O Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,
I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed:
(Chorus) Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to Thee:
How great Thou art, How great Thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
And hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
When I look down from lofty mountain grandure
And hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze: (Chorus)
And when I think that God, His Son not sparing
Sent Him to die, I scarce can take it in;
That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin: (Chorus)
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home, what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration,
And there proclaim, my God, how great Thou art! (Chorus)

Dying once, He all doth save, Alleluia!
Where thy victory, O grave? Alleluia!

Love’s redeeming work is done, Alleluia!
Fought the fight, the battle won, Alleluia!
Death in vain forbids Him rise, Alleluia!
