Material contained within the Loddon leak does not necessarily express the policy of the D.A. committee or the Camping & Caravanning Club Chairman’s Corner First of all I should like to say how nice it was to see so many people at the Easter meet, everyone seemed to have a good time, and I had lots of nice comments about the meet. The AGM went well and the members meeting was over very quickly. Unfortunately we have lost our Vice Chairman Simon as he and his family are moving away from the area, so you are stuck with me for another year. Our country side care officer Norman is also moving away, however Duncan has agreed to be our new Vice Chairman and our new recruit Lee has taken on the post of countryside care. It is nice to see so many younger people on the committee which bodes well for the future of Loddon DA. We had to cancel our proposed meet at Horsley owing to lack of support, we have to have a minimum of 7 units to run a meet on a club site and we were unable to reach that amount. I hope to see lots off you out and about over the summer and let us hope for good weather. Yvonne Fred Lee I would like to thank all those that came and gave their last respects to Fred, there was in excess of 70 at his funeral, which shows how much he was liked and respected, from all walks of life, dogs, caravanning, work, trefoil and friends, your presence there was very much appreciated and was a help to us all, and thank you for your donations to British Lung Foundation and Longcoat Chihuahua Club Rescue in Fred’s memory. I will let you know the figures when they have been finalised. Is joining the Southern Region on their THS at Popham Airfield over the Spring Bank Holiday. Dot Coxhead We were recently informed of the death of Dot Coxhead another long-time member of Loddon DA. Dot and her husband Norman, who predeceased her, were founder members of Loddon DA. Norman served as Chairman for some years and Dot acted a treasurer. They often stewarded both the weekend and the holiday meets and once when the meet was held in the field behind their house, they took down the fence and pushed their caravan onto the site. Those of us who attended the Loddon DA dinner dances at the Elcot Park Hotel will always remember Dot dressed up in all her finery sliding down the banisters. A fun lady and a hardworking Loddon DA member. R.I.P. Dot.
