PASCHAL FEASTING We have for years enjoyed parish Christmas dinners (in Advent!); it was a
joy this week to enjoy with 30 fellow-parishioners (and friends) a grand Eastertide-dinner (not in
Lent!) at Peruga; fine fare; fine vistas; fine folk! Thanks to those who organised!

cruising from Furness Vale to Marple & back. Watch this space!)

MUSIC-MAKING We are continuingly grateful to those who offer musical support for the worship in our churches. Each year the diocese lays on a day of delight to support and enthuse those
parish music-makers. On Sat 20th June in Newark “Sing and Play with Joy to God” is presented by
distinguished liturgical musicians. I hope our parish music-makers will want to go along. The parish
will fund transport and fees.

PARISH NOTES
THIS WEEKEND we celebrate Good Shepherd Sunday. We have a Pastoral Letter from our
diocesan Administrator, Mgr Tom McGovern. We pray especially for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate & religious life. To aid that prayer there is a newly-published prayer-card for
Vocations. Take & pray! There is a second collection at all Masses for the Clergy Formation
Fund.
NOSTELL PRIORY The Wednesday Group have organised a coach trip for Weds 13th May;
four places remain on the coach. Speak to Sylvia (861504) or Anne (238594) to reserve your
place.
CARE GROUPS Both of our churches have committed folk who seek to extend the hand of
friendship beyond the church. Both our parishes actively seek helpers to commit a little time
to befriending those unable by reason of infirmity to cast a shadow on the church door.
Please contact Madeleine D (BB/GAM) 854883 or Sue H (HAD) 858039 if you can lend an
