Longnor Wood Holiday Park: Accessibility
1. Introduction
We strive to ensure that all visitors can enjoy the accommodation, facilities and
surroundings within our park. Our aim is to help in any way that we can and if you require
any assistance during your stay or whilst planning your visit we will be delighted to assist
you. Current facilities and services offered are:
2. Pre-Arrival
• The touring caravan park caters for touring caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and tents.

• We have a hardcopy of our site brochure and can post a copy of our access statement.
• We offer telephone; email, and online information. Staff always accept type talk calls.
• Please don’t hesitate to contact us for accessibility advice applying to your own needs.
4. Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• The reception area has a large tarmac car park to the front with ample space for guests
having mobility problems.
• Once registered at reception, guests access the touring caravan park via an automatic
security barrier which is operated by a swipe card. For most, the barrier can be operated
without leaving your vehicle.
• All facilities are clearly signposted with green signs with white lettering.
5. Main Entrance & Reception
• Reception is open daily:
Mon - Fri
9am – 6pm
Sat - Sun
9am - 5pm
• Access to reception is via a tarmac path which slopes slightly up to the reception door
which opens to 88.5cm.
• The reception door has a small step 16cm high, the inner door opening to 118cm has a
2cm threshold. While not suitable for wheelchairs, staff will be happy to check-in
wheelchair users under the covered porch area.

• The reception counter is 100cm high with an access door for staff to assist guests with a
disability.
• Please ask if you require assistance to pitch up, we will be pleased to help.
6. Touring & Camping Pitches
• Tarmac and stone surfaced roads service all parts of the park.
• The park is situated in three sloping fields, grass areas are mainly flat.
• Touring pitches are gravelled hardstandings with 10amp electric hook-up. Fully serviced
touring pitches are available with individual fresh water tap and grey waste drain which
eliminates the need to carry water around the park.
• Grass tent pitches have 10amp electric hook-up optional.
• Car parking is adjacent to your pitch.
• Picnic benches are benches provided throughout the park.
• There are grass tent and touring pitches close to the facilities building, please ask about
these when booking.
7. Showers & WC’s
• The park has a centrally located toilet and shower block which is located at one end of the same
building as the shop and reception.
• The entrance doors to the toilet blocks are 71cm wide with a small step of 7cm to the Ladies and
two small separate steps to the Gents of 12 and 9 cm respectively.
• All toilets and showers have level entry; some toilets have private washing facilities.
• Toilet doors open to a maximum of 55 cm; one toilet (in the Ladies) has an outward opening door
which has 84 cm access.
8. Laundry
• The laundry is accessed via the same door as reception.
• There is one of each, front loading washing machine, front loading tumble dryer and a top loading
spin dryer 62 cm high.
• The iron and on switch is accessible from the seated or standing position, the ironing board is
adjustable.
• The hand wash sink is 89 cm high

9. Restaurant, Dining, Bar-lounges, Take-away, Cafe
• There are no facilities on the park. Advice on eating out and local take-away facilities can
be obtained from reception.
10. Shop
• The shop and reception are combined. Access to the shop is via a tarmac path which slopes
slightly up to the reception door which opens to 88.5cm.
• The shop sells, basic groceries, bread, milk, bacon, etc., along with sweets, ice creams and
cold drinks. There is also a selection of walking books and maps, camping gas and other
camping necessities.
• Shop hours are:

9am – 6pm
Sat - Sun
9am - 5pm
11. General facilities
• The chemical toilet disposal point is located in a Summer house opposite pitch number 35.
• Recycling and rubbish points are located in the reception car park opposite the shop.
• Fire points on the park are no further than 30 metres away from any pitch.
12.Treatment Rooms
• None available on the park.
13.Outdoor Leisure Facilities
• Outdoor facilities are all accessed via one of the site roads onto level entry grass.
• There is a "Pitch & Putt” course.
• There is a "Boule" court set into the grass with concrete slab surround and a 15cm high
retaining kerb.
• There is a "Badminton" court on level grass.
• All equipment for outdoor leisure is kept in the public laundry in the reception block.
Members of staff are happy to fetch leisure equipment for guests with a disability.
• Seating (benches) are provided around the outdoor facilities area.
14.Dogs
• Dogs are welcomed on the touring park, no more than two per unit.
• A 4 acre meadow dog walk with wonderful views is located near to the park entrance.
15. Lakes, rivers, canals
• There are no lakes, rivers or canals on or adjacent to the park which might create a hazard
to guests with disability.

16. Telephones, WiFi
• Mobile telephone coverage is poor, except for ‘Orange’ and to a lesser extent ‘O2’.
• A payphone is provided in the lobby area of Reception.
• WiFi is available across the park as a chargeable option.
