I would like to take a moment to thank our community for their
support during our NESA tests. I believe our parents are as
excited as our students and teachers are to see our results. As a
school district we will be able to release the results later this
summer. I feel like our students worked hard to perform to their
best ability on the mandated state testing. That is what we
expect, their BEST effort.
I am happy to announce that Lance Thorell, and Luke Thorell
will be running our summer weights/conditioning program.
They have also committed to running a weight program before
school, during the school year. This will allow our student
athletes who do not have access to weight training during the
school day to continue to lift throughout the year. This is a
monumental under taking on their part. We really need the
support from parents and the community. We will plan on
having a weight training in-service on May 18th at 6:30 p.m.
Parents, athletes and coaches please plan to attend.
The week of May 4-8th is designated as Teacher Appreciation
Week. Please acknowledge our teachers for their selfless
dedication to this noble profession. Educators are asked to add
more and more to their already busy and full plates to provide for
our students.
As the 2014-15 year comes to an end for our senior class, I
would personally like to congratulate them on all of their
accomplishments during their time at Loomis Public Schools.
Best wishes to your future success.

Track Team Off To Outstanding Start
The Loomis track team has started out the season with many outstanding
performances. We have a great group of hardworking athletes.
The coaches have really enjoyed their positive attitudes and willingness to
learn new events. Our distance and middle distance group of Christian,
Michaela, Ethan and Teagon have impressed us with their endurance and
leadership. They have placed in the top 5 at almost every meet. The
sprinters are Giovani, Hunter, Heather, Taryn, Eden, Amanya, and
Katie. They have been bringing down their times each week and have
enjoyed running on the sprint relays. Katie has been placing in the high
jump and gets to a higher height each week. Our hurdling duo have been
extremely successful all season. Skylar and Zach have been outstanding
in the field. Skylar has been champion in almost every hurdle race as a
freshman. Amazing and exciting to say the least!!
Our throwers have been scoring points for the team. Collin has been
Champion of the Shot Put and Discus at many of the meets. Trevor,
Allen, Persha, Terah, Bailey, and Karena make up the rest of the throwers
camp. We were sad to loose Alexis to illness, but she also was placing at
the beginning of the season. We are looking forward to the last few meets
of the season and will work hard to have some State Qualifiers!
The team would like to thank all of the parents and community who have
come out to cheer for the team!

LITTLE WOLF VOLLEYBALL CAMP TEACHES NECESSARY SKILLS
The Loomis Volleyball Program led an
elementary volleyball camp for grades 3rd
– 6th. We focused on the key components
of volleyball: passing, setting, serving, as
well as our hitting approach. This camp
gave the girls the chance to learn more
about the game of volleyball. I was
extremely impressed at how well the girls
caught on to all the skills we introduced.
As well as their work ethic, always striving
to work their hardest!
