Broadband Network Exclusively for First Responders!
FirstNet is a federal initiative to plan and build a nationwide, 4G/LTE broadband network exclusively for use by
first responders. The law that established FirstNet requires the federal government to consult with Federal,
State, tribal, and local public safety entities to ensure that the FirstNet network is designed to meet the needs of
public safety across the country. State, tribal and local consultation is a collaborative process, involving key
stakeholders and leadership from each state and territory, and will incorporate enhancements and improvements
as they develop. This presentation is part of the state of Louisiana’s outreach to, and consultation with, the EMS
community to provide information to and gather information from partners critical to the planning, and ultimate
deployment of the network.
