About this event
Breathe Deep Baton Rouge 5K Walk & Fun Run is a
grassroots event originated and organized by Haley Cox, Deon Sumer, and Dominique
Clayton. Haley, Deon, and Dominique learned the importance of healthy lungs through
their own families’ experiences with lung cancer, emphysema, and other respiratory
illness. The three ladies are helping to spread the word about lung health, especially as
Louisiana establishes itself as a leader in healthy communities. Because lung cancer
affects so may Louisianans, and because they believe that their community can make
a real difference in the survivorship of lung cancer, Haley, Deon, and Dominique have
partnered with LUNGevity Foundation on Breathe Deep Baton Rouge. 100% of the
proceeds of the event will go to LUNGevity Foundation.
