The Goods with Rachelle Richard, General Manager
I’m excited to report that Lynwood had
it’s first annual inspection for
compliance with the Retirement Home

remarkable achievement is evidence of Lynwood’s

Food Services
As you are all aware of the work that is being completed
on the residential floors, our sprinkler and fire
communication systems are being upgraded to meet both
Regal standards of safety and emerging fire regulations in
Ontario. Many of you were concerned about not hearing
an alarm or direction over the PA system and I’m pleased
to report that we now have a system in place that will
eliminate those concerns for you. Your suites are now
equipped with sprinkler heads in both your bathroom and
main living area as well as a speaker above your door that
will transmit both a fire alarm and verbal direction given by
staff/fire department. Please note that these speakers will
not transmit the daily announcements by reception. Those
announcements can still be heard through the hallway PA
system.
Food Services Manager
The dietary department would like
to start off by thanking all residents for their continued support and patience
with the renovations and changes to our home,
more specifically to the dining room and servery.
You may have noticed that a coffee machine has
been installed for your drinking pleasure. This
new addition offers many flavours and we hope
that you enjoy the choices available.
On to a less pleasant subject and I believe you
as the resident should know that our food
supplier Sysco, is presently having some chalIn reviewing our fire procedure with the Ottawa Fire Chief

each residential floor. In case of fire alarm, these doors will throw prices through the roof making products

I am working together with our supplier to find
suitable alternatives, however we are forced to
sometimes omit or alter the choices available to
you, our residents. I apologize in advance for
any inconvenience this may cause and am
available for comments or suggestions.
