Only the first 30 applications received for each division will be accepted. The director(s) reserves the right to combine divisions if fewer
than 3 contestants are entered in any division.

Winners will receive: crown, trophy, and sash; 1 , 2 , and 3 runners up will each receive a trophy; photogenic winner will receive a
trophy; People’s Choice winner will receive a trophy.

Make checks payable to Soapbox Derby. Applications with payment can be dropped of the City Hall of Lyons and Thriftway drop box
Deadline for pageant entries is Monday, March 23rd – NO EXCEPTIONS!!
A Photogenic contest will be held in conjunction with this pageant. Only first place trophies will be awarded in each age division.
Submit a 5X7 or 8X10 color or black/white picture to the director on the evening of pageant practice. Participant’s name should be on
the back of submitted photos. Pictures can be picked up after the pageant on Thursday.
There will be one People’s Choice winner per division. Votes for this award will be $1 each and the girl with the most money collected
will receive a trophy.
Winners of each division agree to attend the Soap Box Derby Street Dance in Lyons AND the Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby races.
The winner of the Miss division further agrees to serve as a spokesperson for the Soap Box Derby and, along with winners from all
divisions, agrees to appear in radio, television, print, and/or internet ads for the Derby at the director’s discretion.
Out-of-town judges will perform all judging. The Southeast Georgia Soap Box Derby Committee will not provide judges’ score sheets.
Contestants will be judged on beauty, poise, and personality/overall showmanship.
Contestant numbers will be determined by “First applications in/Last Contestant out” basis at the pageant. Contestants will model a
traditional-T pattern, and will compete in formal evening wear only.
If your child is a winner in any division – the Soap Box Derby Committee will apply to have her as a dignitary in the Vidalia and Lyons
Christmas Parades, but the winner will be responsible for providing transportation in the parade(s) unless the Committee notifies
otherwise.

Picture packages will be taken at the pageant.
Academic Scholarship will be awarded at the end of the reign pending director’s approval that the designated queen has full filled all
assigned duties and responsibilities throughout her reign. Conduct for all Queens representing the Soapbox organizations is expected to
be of highest standards. Payment will only be made directly to the chosen academic institution not an individual.
