VISION
We envision to maintain the premier reputation of the Masonic Lodge of unwaveringly making better men of its
members; ensuring that they are persons of integrity whose exemplary conduct create positive influences in their respective
communities and the lives of their fellowmen.
MISSION
We shall create and open and dynamic environment among our mystic circle that offers excellent opportunities for
moral and spiritual growth, strengthens character and encourages every living soul to explore and develop his full potentials.
We shall at all times demonstrate genuine concern for the general well-being of our brethren as well as those on the
lowest spoke of fortune’s wheel.
We shall conduct our dealings based on mutual and beneficial relationship and with the highest degree of awareness
of our social and civic responsibilities.
We shall hold sacred our Masonic Laws, Rules and Regulations, Constitution and By Laws, Edicts, Ancient Landmarks,
Ancient customs and Usages which were preserved by the lives of our forebears, by immersing ourselves in the imperishable
principles of the Craft.

Executive Committee Meeting
The Macajalar Lodge No. 184 held its monthly Executive Committee Meeting
at the Ramen Tei, Lim Ket Kai Center last March 3, 2015. The Execom meeting is
held once a month in preparation for the monthly stated meetings of the Lodge.
The meeting started at 6:00 pm and ended at 10:00pm and was attended by 20
brethrens.
Most importantly, we shall ever remember that we are mere Earthly Custodians of the Great Architect of the Universe
upon whom we implore in fulfilling our mission and plead that the fruits of our labours will bring forth more honor and glory
to His Most Holy Name. (Adopted from the Grand Lodge.)

The following items are not Masonic offenses, They are simply a lack of Masonic Etiquette…or in
other words, considered to be “bad form” or bad manners.
1. TALKING:
“Side” talk while a degree is being conferred is considered bad manners.
Why? The lodge room is a Temple of the Great Architect of the Universe. The brethren within are
working to make the best ashlars (stones) for His spiritual temple.
Just as it is impolite to talk in a church, synagogue or mosque service, so it is improper to distract
the officers, the workers in the degree or the candidate.
Talking without asking to do so shows irreverence for the proceedings. God’s house is not for social
conversation within the lodge room. It is for worship and learning the lesson of the day which is
being taught.
Unless you have requested of the Master to speak, silence is the rule. This also means no whispering.
HOW? If you have something of interest to say, raise your hand. When the Master recognizes you,
you must stand up, and be recognized by the Master to speak. To address the brethren, you should
say:
“Worshipful Master, Right Worshipfuls, Worshipfuls, Wardens and Brethren”.
If the Most Worshipful Master is in attendance, you should say:
“Worshipful Master, Most Worshipful, Right Worshipfuls, Worshipfuls, Wardens and Brethren.
2. SPEAKING:
If you wish to offer a predetermined motion or matter for discussion, advise the Master beforehand.
Why? Advising the Master before the meeting that you intend to bring up a specific motion or a
matter for discussion is an important courtesy.
You may, indeed, do it without advising him in advance, but the Master may have plans of his own
for that meeting, for which your proposed motion or discussion may not easily fit into the allotted
time frame.
As a courtesy to him, his work, and his dedication to the members, it is best to ask him privately,
beforehand, if he will be able to recognize you to speak your purpose. This saves “face” for both of
you.
You will not publicly be refused and he will not have to seem disagreeable or arrogant in his refusal
of your motion.

Greetings Brethren!
The Worshipful Master would like to extend his gratitude to
the Junior Warden, Bro. Amado Noble, for taking leadership
role in the absence of the Worshipful Master and the Senior
Warden during the former’s visit to the U.S. and latter’s trip
to Japan. The Junior Warden successfully facilitated the
delegation of Macajalar Lodge No. 184 during the Mindanao
Masonic Convention held last February 7, 2015 in General
Santos City.
Lastly, the Worshipful Master would also like to remind the
brethren of the much awaited Worshipful Master’s Cup this
coming March 7, 2015. The said event will be participated by
9 teams coming from the 15 Masonic Lodges of Cagayan de
Oro City. The sports tournament will foster and strengthen
further the spirit of brotherhood and camaraderie among
brother masons from the two Masonic Districts of Cagayan
de Oro City. The Opening Ceremony will be held on March 7,
2015, 1:30 pm at the MUST Gymnasium and will be formally
opened by dignitaries from the two Masonic Districts, DDGM
Cesar A. Merlas and DDGM Alan E. Fernan.

the Plans and Programs for M.Y. 2015
In 2013, Macajalar Lodge No. 184 identified and adopted five (5) development goals for the lodge to pursue in the next five years, M.Y 2013-2017. These goals are as follows: i) Lodge Governance
and Management; ii) Membership and Development; iii) Community and Environment Involvement; iv) Youth Involvement; v) Nationalism.
The matrix below contains the proposed programs, projects or activities for Masonic year 2015 based on the aforementioned goals. In pursuing these proposed projects, the lodge is guided by the
principle that the ultimate measure of success is to see how these programs further strengthened the spirit of brotherhood among the Macajalar brethren. These projects, therefore, serve merely as tools
for fortifying the bond of friendship among us brothers. We are thankful to the brethren for kindly consenting to chair the various committees.
