Our Primary Service areas Research and Analysis MacroSys’s personnel in the research and analysis area have expertise in transportation analysis, policy, planning, and research; statistical measures and indicators development and analysis; economic policy research, especially as it relates to productivity measurement and analysis, impact analysis, and performance measurement, and program evaluation; and largescale statistical systems analysis, research, development, and implementation. They are also experts in survey design and data collection, from survey strategy and planning and sample selection to the development of online systems to collect and deliver survey data. Our research staff regularly uses analytical tools such as SAS, SPSS, STATA, S-Plus, Minitab, Matlab, Mathematica, to perform data manipulation, statistical and econometric modeling, and spatial analysis. Our GIS staff is skilled in ESRI ArcGIS, ArcHydro, ArcIMS, ArcInfo, ArcMap, ArcPad, ArcSDE, ArcView and many other GIS-related software and tools. Our professional library services offer real-time reference desk support and metadata system maintenance and records management and administration. Our staff provides more traditional library and reference services such as those at the FHWA’s Turner Fairbank Highway Research Center. Our library staff regularly use bibliographic utilities such as OCLC and RLIN; online subscription databases such as Compendex, Science Direct, and ASCE Research Library; bibliographic databases such as TRIS, PubMed, and Agricola; and legal research databases, such as Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw online research tools offering access to proprietary databases, such as Dialog, EbscoHost, Proquest, InfoTrac integrated library systems such as Innovative Interfaces Inc., Sirsi, Dynix InMagic DBTextbase. Our information services staff supports and regularly uses key online resources such as the National Transportation Library and TRIS Online to serve our clients. Information Technology Our information technology and management personnel are experienced in Web systems design, develop- ment, and maintenance; Web site development and hosting; numerical and scientific programming; full-lifecycle customized software development, requirements analysis, and security planning; database development, tuning, integration, and management; hardware and software systems administration, integration, and maintenance; and legacy IT systems migration, modernization, and automation. Our IT staff offer a wide selection of technical tools such as Oracle, MS SQL, and MS Access; Fortran, Pascal, C++, Java, ASP, Perl, ColdFusion, and VB/VB.net; HTML and XML; Apache Tomcat, MS IIS, and BEA Weblogic; MS Windows, UNIX, and Linux. Publications Production MacroSys’s professional publication services staff is skilled in publications management, including graphic and publication design, layout, technical writing and editing, and version control and tracking. To provide professional publication services, our technical writers, editors, layout specialists, and designers regularly use such tools as Adobe CS2, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator; Adobe Framemaker; QuarkXpress; Deltagraph; WebWorks; Dreamweaver; Fireworks; and Microsoft Office. Program and Project Management In addition to our solid technical competencies, MacroSys provides management services on many of our contracts. We have been entrusted with managing programs and projects for several years on our largest contracts, the duties of which include program oversight, planning, integration, and time and cost budgeting, tracking, and correction, with a high degree of autonomy. Our project managers develop and implement project plans, monitor project progress, provide technical guidance, advise other team members, and ensure the smoothest operation and information flow among all team members and between MacroSys and our customers.
