4. Electronics Each bunch is individually weighed thanks to a load cell which offers precise measures (around 2%), in order to associate them to prepare packages close to the programming instructions. Each bunch is globally analysed thanks to 8 cameras (infra-red and visible) positioned around them, offering a reliable analysis of colour, density and predominant berry diameter. 5. Orphea and Grapesizer e operator defines thanks to a computer program; the assignment of the grape bunches to each confection station. e electronic sensor measurements of each bunch are transmitted to a PC to be processed. e grape bunches are then conveyed according to their electronic sorting results. At each confection station, a different fixed weight instruction can be defined. A user-friendly interface adapted to the specifications makes the sorting program easy to use. All sorting programs are recorded automatically and can be used subsequently. e interface permits to edit and print summaries of the sorting results of a sized lot. Programs are recorded according to the standards of colour and size of grapes varieties (ompson seedless, Red globe, Crimson…) GRAPESIZER Non contractual document GRAPESIZER GRAPESIZER is an electronic sizer of latest technology, especially designed for grapes sorting and packing. Adapted to different kinds of packing, Grapesizer allows the sorting per colour, size and density (predominant berry diameter) of green, red and dark grapes. e bunches of grapes are weighed individually, associated and accumulated in each outlet in order to prepare crates with fixed weights as close as possible to the instructions programmed by the operator (4,5kg; 8,2kg; 9kg…). 1. Functioning principle Grapesizer is the first grader of its kind to carry bunches of grapes by aerial conveyor in order to analyse them through optical and weighing electronic systems. Each bunch is hung on a removable hook of the conveyor which is designed to hold each bunch easily. is sizer is composed of 2 workings stations: the supply station and the crates confection station 2. Supply station Crates full of clean bunches of grapes, ready to be sized are sent towards each operator. e empty hooks circulate on a low conveyor. e hanging of the grapes is done without manual contact thanks to a hook. Each product can then be positioned on the upper conveyor. e workstation ergonomics facilitates the operations. 3. Confection station e grapes analysed are conveyed and accumulated in the outlets. e station is composed of 2 indicators (right and le) associated to 2 boxes in process of filling (right and le), 2 crates can then be filled simultaneously. e operator unhooks the bunch, covers it with a plastic bag, and puts it into the box signalled by the associated indicator. e empty hook is then placed on the low conveyor. e indicator flashes to signal the last bunch to be placed in the crate which means that the weight programmed is correct. en, the crate is pushed on the collecting belt of finished packages which conveys them towards the area of crates closing and palletization.
