MaG Gaming : First Blood – Rules and Regulations Tournament rules (i) ‘First Blood’ is a single elimination or knockout tournament. Once eliminated, a team will have no chance to compete in the tournament again. (ii) All rounds up to the semi finals will be a single game contest, with the winner advancing through to the next round. (iii) The semi finals, finals and the third place match (played between the two losing semi finalists) will be a best of 3 contests, with the first team to win 2 games being concluded as the winner of the contest. Registration rules (i) Registrations for ‘First Blood’ will start on the 1st of April 2015. (ii) Registrations will carry on till the 20 of April 2015, 11:59 pm. (iii) The cap on the number of teams is 128. Entries will be taken on a first come first serve basis. (iv) Incase a team backs out before the tournament starts, the next team on the waiting list will be notified of an availability. Teams and Players (i) A team shall consist of 5 + 2 participants, who will be here on referred to as ‘members’ or ‘team members’. (ii) Every team will have a captain with whom all the communication will take place. (iii) The additional 2 members are not obligatory and depends on the teams choice. The first 5 members however, are compulsory. They may be used if one of the initial 5 members is unavailable or as a change in tactics. (iv) All members have to be included while registering for the tournament. If the name of a member is not included during registration, it can be added by getting in contact with the MaG Gaming team, but only before the registration dates are over. (v) In case there a change in the line-up from the previous match, it is the duty of the team leader to notify MaG Gaming about the change. (vi) Incase the team leader cannot communicate with the MaG Gaming team due to personal reasons, a second member should take charge of communicating the required information. (v) No member can be a part of 2 different teams. In case a member is found to represent 2 teams, he will be banned from the tournament. (vi) This tournament is restricted to Indian players only. Players found in violation of this will be disqualified immediately. th Commitments: (i) By attending the competition participants acknowledge without limitation to comply with the rules and regulations, official announcement, and with the statements and decisions made by the admins. (ii) Every participant acknowledges the right for the administration to modify the rules and regulations for adjustments at any time without notice. (iii) Every participant has to show the needed respect towards admins and other participants. Insults and unfair or disrespectful behaviour towards anyone are not tolerated and will be punished. (iv)Every participant must always have the newest version of Steam and Dota 2 installed and has to check for updates in time before each match. Unless a new version comes out right before the match, patching is not a valid reason to delay it. (v)Every team accepts the official schedule of the competition and declares its ability to be available during these times. (vi) Every team and participant has to try to win every game at every stage of the competition. Purposefully losing for any reason is strictly forbidden. Scheduling: Match times The official schedule of the competition shall be updated in the website once the registration has closed. This schedule includes the time of each match or of each round (in which case all matches of the round have that time as official match time). If a delayed end of a previous match prohibits a match to start on schedule (due to either one of the involved teams still playing or the official broadcaster still streaming the previous match), the match time is changed to 15 minutes after the previous match ends. Rescheduling The change of a match time is only possible under particular circumstances and has to be confirmed by the administration. Requests for rescheduling will be taken into consideration 2 days prior to the scheduled match. Hosting: Both team captains are required to know their match timings and match number. Along with this, they should also make a note of the moderator for that particular match. The contact details of the moderator will be provided on the website after the registrations close. 15 minutes prior to starting of the match both the team captains are to contact the moderators to give their final confirmation. If the moderators are unreachable kindly contact the admin. The moderator will wait till a maximum of 10 minutes past the scheduled time ,If the team captains fail to provide the their final confirmation the moderator will declare the other team as the winner. After confirmation from both the captains, the moderator will host the lobby and provide the password to the captains. The moderators will take time to verify the details of the players after they join the lobby. After the game is over, wait for the moderators to note down some details like match IDs and score, etc..Its is advisable for the team captain to take a screenshot of the same. After the moderators confirm, you may leave the lobby Punctuality 1. If one team has not shown any sign of activity (that includes: No team member wrote a match comment, no team member has joined the lobby, all other attempts to contact the team failed) until 15 minutes after the match time, a default win should be requested by the other team. The default win for such games will be confirmed by an admin under normal circumstances. If one team is not ready to start the match (but has shown activity) until 30 minutes after the match time, a default win should be requested by the other team. The default win for such games will be confirmed by an admin under normal circumstances. If both the teams are not ready by 15 minutes after the match time, the admins have the authority to declare both teams to have lost the match. Broadcasting Every authorized spectator inside the game is allowed to provide a video stream with a delay of at least two minutes. The players are not allowed to watch or listen to any of these video streams at any time during their match. Furthermore they are not allowed to provide a stream themselves, unless approved by an admin. In game rules Picks and Bans The game mode will be captains mode. The game will be paused during the draft only if a player disconnects. Pauses A team has the right to pause the game. The player pausing must notify the others 3 seconds in advance and mention the reason for pausing the game unless the player disconnects without notifying. Each team will be allowed a maximum time of 15 minutes of pause time. If the pause time goes above the stipulated time, the admin may resume the game. Disconnects and Reconnects If a player disconnects, the game is to be paused instantly. Everyone has up to ten minutes to reconnect to the game (if the same person disconnects more than once, all times get added up). If this time is passed, the opposing team may continue the game, unless an admin demands the opposite. The affected player is in this case still allowed to rejoin later on. Broadcasting Every authorized broadcaster inside the game is allowed to provide a video stream with a delay of at least six minutes. The players are not allowed to watch or listen to any of these video streams at any time during their match. Furthermore they are not allowed to provide a stream themselves, unless approved by an admin. Bugs Incase of any major bugs, the admin will pause the game and take the necessary action Teams are required to report bugs even if they favour the team. Abusing a bug is forbidden. Tools /Hacks The usage of any Dota-related tool aside from Steam and Dota 2 during a match is strictly prohibited. Any player found guilty of the same will result in an immediate ban of the team from ‘First Blood’ and the tournaments organized henceforth Use of abusive language Use of abusive language in the game will not be tolerated. The admin will issue a first warning to anyone using abusive language, following which if the rule is violated again, the player or team may be banned. Abuse of admins will result in an immediate disqualification. Ending A game is finished when-An Ancient is destroyed OR -when more than 2 players leave on purpose OR -when the admin decides on it (for reasons he thinks necessary) -a “gg” is called by the team & the ancient is destroyed The admin will take a screenshot of the match results after it ends. Both teams are advised to do the same in case any issue arises later. Rule Violation and Punishment Breaking of the rules or ignoring the order of an admin may result in a punishment for a whole team or a specific player. Type and amount is chosen by an admin. Possible Team Punishments Default Loss for the whole match Disqualification from the tournament Possible Player Punishments Temporary ban from the competition Permanent ban from the competition In case one of the players is banned, the team may continue in the tournament if they have registered a standby. If any team has less than 5 unbanned members at any time in the tournament, the team will be disqualified immediately. 7. Prize Money Distribution The prize money will only be transferred to the team leader. The team leader has to make sure every member of his team will get his adequate percentage of the prize money. For more details, contact the administration. The Tournament size and prize are subject to change based on the number of total teams registered at the end of the registration period. All participants must be legal residents of India. Only one (1) prize per household per Tournament. Employees of Mag Gaming, the Tournament's participating sponsors and their advertising agencies, and members of the immediate family of any such persons, are not eligible to participate and win
