The World of Aid-Funded Business: An Introduction
Wednesday 25th March 2015 09:30-16:00
Birmingham Chamber of Commerce, 75 Harborne Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, B15 3DH
Aid-Funded Business
This practical one-day workshop equips you with the
means to discover who the main organisations are,
which regions and sectors they focus on and to have
an understanding of their procurement procedures.
Learn how to make the best use of the public information.
That is available in order to gain access to relevant
project information and intelligence that will help
position your company as a successful bidder.
Why do business with aid organisations?
Multilateral agencies (such as the UN, World Bank etc)
spend $60 billion every year on everything from tents
to telecommunications. But you need to know - and
be known by - the right people, in the right places.
Who should attend?
Companies (either Consultants or suppliers of goods or
equipment) who are looking to, or are already bidding
for contracts with any of the International Aid Agencies
then attend this event to learn more about better
positioning your company to win Aid Funded Business.
Who will provide the training?
The trainer is Nigel Peters, Director of the UKTI Aid-Funded
Business Service and also a Director of British Expertise, the
leading trade association for consultants and professional
services companies. He has many years’ experience of this
sector and is the UK’s Private Sector Liaison Officer for the
World Bank, Inter-American development bank and EBRD.
We are delighted to welcome Eleanor Baha from the
British Embassy in Geneva, who will be explaining
the Geneva and Rome based UN agencies.
