A note from our new
Director of Membership and Operations
Christiane Robbins
Welcome to all our NEW and returning members!
I am your new Director of Membership and Operations
and hope that you will help me thank Lisa Wolf for all
the hard work and dedication that she has given MWSC
the past two years. Needless to say it will be very tough
to fill her shoes, but I will do my best.
Some changes that we have made this year include
repairing 22 chaises and three chairs, upgraded the
internet speed, and welcome back Georgetown Aquatic
as the pool management company.
Opening Day is fast approaching and just a few notes:



If you haven’t emailed a picture for the
membership book (if you had one done last
year, no need to send another), please do so at
your earliest convenience. If you don’t have a
one on file, you will be asked to show a picture
ID until one is submitted. A “passport” style
headshot photo with a phone camera is fine.
Please ID each family member and email to our
membership book coordinator, Alison Russ.
([email protected])
Guest passes are available in 6 AND 12 punches.
Please contact me if you would like to purchase
any for your guests.
Please remember that if you are planning a
party at the pool, please contact me to put it on
the pool calendar.
We still have memberships available, so tell your friends
and neighbors about Manor Woods! As always, please
feel free to be in contact if you have questions or
concerns regarding the pool, the staff or any other
issue.
I look forward to seeing you at the pool.

Baby Pool Regulations
Children using the baby pool who are not yet “potty” trained must wear a rubber diaper cover over the child’s
diaper. The Montgomery County Health Department requires this non-water permeable barrier. Thanks for
your cooperation.
Swim Lessons
The members of our coaching staff will once again offer lessons, both group and private for all ages.
Additional information on swim lessons will be posted on the bulletin board and the swim team website.
Students
Volunteer service hours for graduation can be earned at Manor Woods. Volunteers are needed as swim meet
aides, beautification/environmental aides and special project aides. Students need to take the initiative and
find ways in which they can help under the supervision of adult Board or Swim/Dive Team Committee
members.

Be sure to visit our Manor Woods Swim Club website and follow us on Facebook for
the latest information including pool operations, rules and regulations, pool events,

Food and Snacks at Manor Woods
this summer
The Manor Woods Snack Bar will be under new
management this summer and members will have
new dinner options on many nights courtesy of
area food trucks who will be serving our
community. The snack bar will be open 12-4 daily,
as well as other times when demand for snacks and
beverages is expected to be high (swim and dive
meets, for example).
Until school lets out, the snack bar will be open on
weekends with a menu of ice cream, cold drinks,
and an assortment of snacks and candy. Normal
snack bar hours will begin after the school year
ends and the menu will expand to include more hot
food favorites. Any profits from snack bar sales will
go straight to improving the pool facilities so please
support our snack bar when you are at the pool!
A variety of dinner options from barbecue to pizza
will be available from our food truck vendors.
Please watch the weekly e-newsletter and the
Manor Woods website for news about the snack
bar during the 2015 season and a calendar of when
food trucks will be at the pool.
The pool will close early
on the following dates:
Saturday, June 13th
Wednesday, June 24th
Monday, June 29th

MANOR WOODS SWIM & DIVE TEAM - 2015
Welcome to the 2015 Manor Woods swim and dive team season! This summer we will be
swimming in division “K” against Long Branch, Carderock Springs, Whetstone, Waters
Landing and Somerset for our “A” swim meets. For the “B” swim meets, we will be
swimming against Wheaton Woods, Tanterra, King Farm, Washingtonian Woods, and
Glenmont. In addition to the swim meets, we have numerous fun social activities for the
swim, dive team and pre-team members. Don’t forget the Friday afternoon spirit
activities and family potluck! Please check the swim and dive team website and the
team bulletin board at the pool frequently for updates. There will be a swim and dive

swim and dive committee will provide dessert and drinks.
The swim and dive team committee has been working in the off-season to get the season off to a

Sponsorship
The swim & dive team accepts advertisements on our webpage and in the swim team meet
programs. Contact Morgan Hurley at [email protected] or see the website for additional
information.
Platinum sponsor – $1,000 - Banner conspicuously located at the pool during all home swim
meets, tile ad on the web page, full-page ad located inside front cover or on back cover of home
meet programs.
Gold sponsor – $650 - Banner at pool during all home swim meets, tile ad on web page.
Lane sponsor - $300 – Banner placed on fence above lane, ¼ page ad in all home meet programs
Meet sheet advertising only (rates are for entire season) – Full page - $150, half page - $75, quarter
page - $50; Tile ad on web page - $200; Web page text link - $100
Swim Parents
Each family who registers a swimmer is expected to volunteer a minimum of four swim meets
throughout the season and to serve on one committee. It takes about 30 volunteers to run a swim
meet. Volunteering for the team is a lot of fun and a great way to meet other parents, as well as see
your swimmers up close! Now you can sign-up to volunteer for swim meets and social activities via
our new website.
Swim Officials
Manor Woods is looking for individuals who are interested in becoming Stroke and Turn Judges.
Referee, Starter, and Stroke and Turn Judge require training and certification. The Montgomery
County Swim League (MCSL) provides free training. Call Morgan Hurley for more information and
directions to clinic sites at 301-661-5987. Check out the MCSL web site at www.mcsl.org.
Rules and Regulations
A complete listing of Manor Woods rules and regulations is posted on the pool bulletin board as well as at http://www.manor-woods.com/rules.htm.
DIVING
We are excited as our coaching staff is returning this year. We welcome back Head Coach Angela
Lozupone and Assistant Coaches Anthony Lozupone and Madison Cary. Manor Woods Dive
Team is in Division III. We will host Carderock Springs, Calverton, and Old Farm and face off away
against Country Glen and Potomac Woods.
For those swimmers who may have an interest but not sure about diving, we will have an opportunity
to "Try It" for just $20. You can try it for two weeks prior to the first season meet. Your $20 payment
will then go towards the $85 registration fee.
MCDL offers training for Judges and Referees in the form of Officials Clinics. This "training" is valid
for 3 seasons, so those who attended a clinic before 2011 season need to attend a clinic in 2015. We
would like to encourage parents to attend one of the clinics. It is a great opportunity to learn and
understand the basics of scoring and be trained so you can volunteer as a Judge during a meet. You
don't have to have a diver on the team to serve as a Judge! We are also encouraging some of the
more experienced Judges to attend in order to become a Referee. Check out http://mcdiving.org.
We will be happy to organize carpools.

Be sure to stay after practices on Fridays to join the potlucks and spirit activities. This is a great
opportunity to get to know other team members.
Dive Parents
Parent participation and support are vital to the continued success of the dive team.
Having a successful and enjoyable dive season requires the assistance and commitment of a great
number of parent volunteers. Each family who registers a diver is expected to volunteer a minimum
of four events throughout the season (dive meet or social activity). Become involved! Share the
work, excitement, and family fun! See the volunteer section on the S&D Team website to find out
how you can help out!
For more information, please contact either Molly Natchipolsky at [email protected] or
Eva Shinka at [email protected]. And please be sure to come to the parent meeting on
