We are pleased to announce that The Mansfield Public Library is hosting a One Book, One
Community read this month. We hope you will join us in reading Wonder by R.J. Palacio. More
details about the events are listed below. There will be book discussions for various age groups,
movies, crafts, guest speakers and more. Please pick up a copy of the book and join our community
read!

Book Discussion Group
The Book Discussion group meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00
p.m. New members are always welcome.
On March 19 we will be discussing Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie.

A Pleasure and a Calling by Phil Hogan
What a brilliantly creepy novel! Mr. Heming is a realtor in a small town who
tries his best to blend into the background. This comes in handy because he
keeps copies of the keys to all the houses he has sold and will drop in from
time to time...while the owners are out - or not! Mr. Heming is a bit of an
unreliable narrator, having a tendency to scatter important facts here and
there. We learn about his childhood, but only what and when he wants us to
know. He seems content to live through the lives of others and sees himself as
a benevolent god looking over his people. From time to time, however, he becomes embroiled in
situations that result in violence. Surprisingly, I found myself hoping Mr. Heming did not get
caught. This one is hard to put down and will make you immediately change the locks on your
home!
YA Book Review
All the Bright Places by Jennifer Niven
This was a moving YA book about loss and love, depression and joy,
suicide and survival. Finch and Violet meet at the top of a bell tower both are broken but each in their own way. Finch has suffered from bouts
of darkness that he terms being asleep. Violet has survived a car crash
that killed her older sister Eleanor. Finch has been called a freak since
middle school and has taken to trying on various personae - the prep, the
goth, etc. Violet had been part of a golden group, but now is coasting by
in school due to the "extenuating circumstances" of her sister's death. These two broken souls
come together at the bell tower and embark on a school project that involves wandering the state
of Indiana to visit unique landmarks. Can they heal each other, will they both survive? Told in
alternating chapters by Finch and Violet, this is a novel that you will not put down. Highly
recommended!

8th Annual Bruins PJ Drive
Mansfield Public Library is partnering with Cradles to Crayons and the Boston
Bruins to provide new pajamas (sizes 4/5T - 18/20) for local children in need
across the Commonwealth.You can make a difference by bringing in new pajama
donations or checks made out to Cradles to Crayons to the library:
