GATRA/CHARLIE CARD
A representative from GATRA will be at the
Mansfield COA at 255 Hope Street on
Tuesday, June 23 from 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. to
process senior applications for the free
GATRA/Charlie Card picture I.D. card.
Senior adults must be 60 and over to
participate. This card allows ½ fare on the
GATRA and MBTA
Transportation applications will be available
on this day. Proof of age is required. Please
sign-up at 508-261-7368. Please bring a
picture I.D. with you when you come to the
COA.
TAX WORK OFF PROGRAM
FOR NON-SENIOR VETERANS
The Tax Work off Program is sponsored by the
Mansfield Council on Aging under the Town of
Mansfield.
Recent legislation was adopted for non-senior
veterans to apply into this program.
Under the guidelines of the program a Veteran
can work 111.11 hours and receive up to $1,000
off of their property tax bill.
Veterans must not be currently working, and
must own/live in the Town of Mansfield and
have their name on the property tax bill to be
paid. Applicants must get Veteran’s Status
Certification
from
the
Veterans
Agent, Heath Hobson at 508-851-6411 first
before applying into the program at the Council
on Aging. Applicants will be assigned
based on availability of jobs available. Other
guidelines may apply.

GATRA TRANSPORTATION
Low cost in-town transportation is available
for Mansfield seniors (over 60) and disabled
residents of any age through GATRA. All
riders must have completed the GATRA
application. Disabled riders must complete
parts A & B of the application. The
application is available at the Mansfield
Council on Aging or online at:

Fares are $1.25 one way within Mansfield if
paying cash, or $1 each way with a ticket.

FOOD PANTRY
Mansfield’s food pantry, Our Daily Bread: Friends
Caring and Sharing, has been serving the
Mansfield community since 1997 as an outreach
project of The Congregational Church of
Mansfield. Each week food is distributed on
Saturday mornings between 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

West Street in Mansfield. Volunteers are
available each Saturday morning to help new
clients. A fair number system is conducted each
Saturday at 9:00 am. If you are unable to wait,
there is a pre-sorted pick-up option available.

Mansfield residents can receive GATRA van
transportation from their residence to the
Train Station and from the Train station to
their residence daily from 5:00 a.m. to 8:30
am and from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Cost is $2.00
one way or $4.00 round trip. Reservations
can be made through Bill’s Taxi at 1-800-5298294. Please make sure that you tell the
dispatcher you are requesting transport to
the train station under the Mansfield
Connection.
