Here we are heading into Spring and our final quarter of this school year. This year has flown by and we are
getting geared up for State Testing and all of the end of the year activities.
March was an exciting month here at Maple. Maple Bingo Night was so much fun! A special thanks to all who
donated fabulous prizes and to Jennifer Abernathy (and our wonderful MCC) for providing this great family
th
event! 6
grade just got back from a fun week away at Camp K.E.E.P. They really enjoyed their week of
outdoor learning experiences. A big thank you to all the parent chaperones who went along to make this a
quality experience!
April brings with it our first ever Mother-Son Dance. This year it will be a “Mom I must-ache you to save the
th
date” , so mark your calendars for April 10
and stop by the office to purchase your tickets. It will be a fun
night of food, dancing and games.
th
This month also brings the beginning of State Testing. This year our students in 5
th
rd
th
& 8grades will continue to take Science; and then all of our 3– 8graders will be
taking the computer-based test in the areas of Language Arts and Math. Check below
and mark your calendars for the dates your child is testing. It is very important that
students are here every day and on time. Students should get plenty of rest, eat a
good breakfast, and be ready to do their best. Please don’t schedule appointments
during that time or plan for your child to miss any school.

Hello Maple Family, th
Spring is here and all of us here in the 7
grade class room hope you had a restful and enjoyable spring break and a wonderful Easter! We are now on the “home stretch” of the school year. There are eight weeks of school left and they will be chocked full of many different activities, so as we like to say here at maple, HOLD ON! The most notable activity happening will be state testing. It will be much different this year than in the past mainly in that it will be completed all online. That and it will cover the new Common Core State Standards that have been adopted by California. We have been busy preparing for this all year. Open house, achievement night, walkathon, MotherSon dance, game days, field trips, class parties, th
and the 8
grade grad trip will fill up the calendar from now until the end of the school year as well. We must not forget our annual science fair competition. This should be a fun and worthwhile experience for the students participating in it. I know my students are looking forward to it! As we look to the end of the year it is always a good idea to reflect back on the year that was and selfevaluate. It’s good to think about the things that made the year successful and great and selfevaluate on the things that could be improved upon. As we do this it serves as a reminder of just exactly what the things are that have and will continue to make Maple an awesome place to be! Mr. Roberts Seventh Grade Pertussis Requirement For
