Marine Industries Limited have designed a new range of Fast Patrol Attack/Rescue/AntiPiracy boats under the Kharon Brand. The Kharon Fast Patrol/Attack Craft (KSI-17) has
been designed for offshore patrol missions that require the capability of long range and
high speed in difficult waters. The KSI-17 has an advanced hull designed specifically to
accommodate both surface drive and water jet propulsion units. MI have perfected this
unique hull design to cope with this non-conventional power arrangement. The clever
design has overcome the inherent problems which can cause instability, chine walking,
drag and porposing thereby ensuring a stable and steady platform at very high speeds
with high weight loads in both rough and calm waters. And a calm and soft ride at low
patrol speeds. Our experience in International Offshore Powerboat Racing has
contributed greatly to this unique and very special Fast Attack Craft. The KSI-17 offers
unprecedented performance and speed rarely seen for this type of vessel – 70 knots
plus combined with slow patrol speeds in shallow waters
CAPABILITIES OF THE KHARON STEALTH INTERCEPTOR
With an operational crew of four, the KSI-17 can be specified as a long range lifeboat/troop
carrier, a Fast Patrol Attack craft or as a Stealth Insertion Vessel. (SIV) The KSI-17 is
supplied with twin 1450hp Gas Turbines driving Surface Drives together with a 925hp MTU
Diesel which operates via a Rolls Royce Water Jet .These multi functional power systems
allows the KSI-17 to stay out at sea for 4/5 days at a time in all types of operating
environments.




We are delighted to be able to confirm that “Lloyd’s Register Marine”
have agreed to include - The Kharon Stealth Interceptor KFAC-17 –
within their portfolio and that each and every one will have full
Lloyd’s compliance from the beginning of the design to build to
when the boat hits the water resulting in Lloyd’s Certification!
Every aspect of the design and build of the KFAC-17 will be fully
checked by Lloyd’s technicians who will be examining the craft
throughout its building process to ensure that it complies fully in
every aspect with their Rules & Regulations.
The Lloyd’s classification service – from conceptual design support,
through design appraisal, construction and in-service survey – is
internationally recognised worldwide as the premier organisation
ensuring total satisfaction for the buyer.
It is extremely rare for craft of this type to have this privileged
classification process. This proves our commitment to providing the
very best craft possible for our clients.

that they will provide our customers with the very best in support facilities.
That is what Rolls Royce do.

The Rolls Royce/MTU Series 60. With a turbocharger, supercharger and large injectors
the company is rating its high-horsepower model at over 800 hp at 2300 rpm. The
benefits are Low fuel consumption. Uncomplicated, robust design. Unrestricted low-load
operation. Low exhaust and noise emissions. Induction hardened for greater longevity.
Modular design with integral fuel cooler, easily removable. Patented top cylinder liner
cooling and DDEC Electronic Engine Management.


The Gas Turbine engine packages offered are safe and inexpensive to run, multi-fuel
capable, and can be operated for long periods of time at maximum power without
needing any internal inspection or overhaul.
Marine Industries offer the following six point programme which is a
complete turnkey solution to those Governments and Companies
requiring the very best in Fast Attack Craft.

ready to go to sea.
2) Extensive “Options” listing.
3)Three year supply contract to be agreed.
4) Provide an intensive 10 day “High Speed Boat Handling” Training
programme for crews here in the U.K.
5) Supply of all spares and maintenance at any and all locations.
