If you have any questions concerning your polling place, contact the City Clerk Jim Anderson’s Office at Marinette City Hall located at
1905 Hall Avenue, Marinette, WI or call 715.732.5140 between the hours of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM Monday through Friday. Voters may
also obtain polling location, ballot and voter registration information at the following web site address: https://myvote.wi.gov/. All City
of Marinette polling sites are accessible to elderly and disabled voters.
SPRING CLEANING
The Public Works Department would like to remind the residents of Marinette, how to properly dispose of spring clean-up yard and junk
waste. Please follow the City Lines calendars on the back of the newsletter for the proper yard and junk week schedule. Please have
yard waste or junk put out by 7:00 AM for pick up. Large items, junk, stumps, yard waste and garbage may be dropped off at the City
Dump, 2411 Cleveland Avenue, Marinette. Hours of operation are Wednesdays 7:30 AM – 5:30 PM and Saturdays 8:00 AM to 12:00
PM. Items NOT accepted at the dump site include roofing, tar paper, paint, white goods, tires, bricks, blocks or rocks and microwaves.
LARGE ITEM PICK UP
Large item pickup service is available for $10.00 per item, which is payable at the Civic Center, 2000 Alice Lane. You will need a City
Services Card to process a large item pickup order. City Services Cards are issued at the Civic Center. The cards are free; however,
the card must be preloaded with enough funds to cover the cost of the service when scheduling an order. After the Large Item Pick Up
order is processed, the Department of Public Works will contact you, via phone, to let you know when the item(s) will be picked up.
Item(s) must be placed on the curb or in the alley for pick up. No item(s) will be removed from inside a residence. If you have any
questions regarding large item pick up, please contact the Civic Center at 715.732.5222.
BICYCLE LICENSE AVAILABLE
A $6.00 bike license can be obtained at the City Clerk’s Office, 1905 Hall Avenue, and remains valid for the duration of time that you
own your bicycle. The Marinette Police Department would like to remind residence to lock your bike any time you leave it unattended.
MARINETTE FIRE DEPARTMENT
The Marinette Fire Department would like to remind residents to be very cautious while on the ice. With the warmer temperatures, ice
conditions can change quickly. Also, recreational fire-pit permits expire April 30, 2015, please purchase your 2015-2016 permit at the
Marinette Fire Department, 1450 Main Street, Marinette. Permits are $10.00. Note: If you are a renter, you need your landlord’s
permission for a fire pit permit.
CITY OF MARINETTE BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LOAN PROGRAM
The Business Development Loan Program (BDLP) encourages commercial revitalization, business expansion and industrial
development within the City of Marinette for the purpose of job creation and job retention. At least one (1) full-time permanent position
or full-time equivalent must be created for every $35,000 of program funds requested or, one (1) existing job is retained for every
$35,000 of program funds. Of the jobs created or retained, at least 51 percent (51%) of these jobs must be made available to low to
moderate-income persons. All loans are fixed rate financing at four percent (2%) interest, amortized over ten years. No minimum or
maximum loan amount requirement. Loan amounts will be based on availability of local program funds and matching funds are
required. Eligible activities include: acquisition of land, buildings, fixed equipment and working capital. For additional information and/or

5 ANNUAL LOGGING & HERITAGE FESTIVAL

The 5 Annual Logging & Heritage Festival will be July 11-12, 2015. Set your calendars and be ready for a fun filled family friendly
weekend. This year the Lumber Jacks are bringing along the Lumber Jill’s to show off their skills this year. This is a show you are not
going to want to miss. We will also be expanding the children’s area and have Kidz Town at the festival all weekend giving out free
animal balloons, free face painting & magic shows. Jumping Good Times will also be back with inflatable bouncers for the kids to enjoy.
This year we have “The Cougars” performing on the main stage on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. The Renegade Band will perform on
Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m.
2015 BOAT LAUNCH PERMIT STICKERS AVAILABLE
City of Marinette annual boat launch stickers can be obtained at the City Clerk’s office, 1905 Hall Avenue, the City of Marinette’s
Recreation Department, 2000 Alice Lane and A&K Bait & Tackle , 1616 Shore Drive, Marinette. Stickers are valid for all public launches
on the Wisconsin side of Menominee River from Hattie Street Bridge downstream to the mouth of the Menominee River. The permit fee
is $25.00 for the first boat trailer sticker and $5.00 for each additional boat trailer owned by the same person. Boat owners purchasing
additional stickers must provide registration information at the time of the purchase for each boat they own. Boat launch permit stickers
must be permanently affixed to the driver’s side of the boat trailer tongue. Daily boat launch permit fee is $3.00 payable at each launch
site.
MARINETTE SENIOR CENTER
The Marinette Senior Center offers a place to socialize, learn and have fun. Don’t let the word “senior” scare you away? It is an active

BOOK YOUR SUMMER PARTY NOW
The City of Marinette pavilions are available for rental usage 7 days a week. They are open from May - September at City Park, Fred
Carney Park, Red Arrow and Stephenson Island. Enclosed pavilion amenities include a large cooking range, refrigerator/freezer, a long
buffet counter with outlets for serving, hot and cold running water and sink for cleanup. Inside seating capacity is 60 individuals and
additional outdoor seating for more than 200 individuals is available. All locations have playground areas. Call the City Clerk’s office at
715.732.5140, to check pavilion availability and to make your summer party reservation today!
MARINETTE FORESTRY DEPARTMENT RECIEVES GRANT
Todd Lapacz, Marinette City Forester, applied for a CN (Canadian National) grant and was awarded $1,500.00. The grant money will
be used in a special Arbor Day project that will enhance wildlife habitat, specifically bird habitat along the cities walkway that follows the
railroad tracks from Ella Court to Riverside Avenue. The city crews accomplished the first stage of this project by removing all nonnative invasive plant species along this walk. This included plants such as Eurasian bush honeysuckle, buckthorn and garlic mustard.

Local 5 graders from Marinette Middle School will complete the project this spring by planting 470 native, wildlife inviting plants and
trees. Also included in this project will be areas of native wildflowers and the installation of birdhouses. This project supported by CN
will provide residents to utilize the walkway in a more aesthetic view and wildlife diversity. Students will have the pleasure of learning
the importance of habitat restoration and taking part of a living and growing project.
BIRD CITY
The City of Marinette became a Bird City in 2012. The Chappee Rapids Audubon Society holds an International Migratory Bird Day in
Marinette annually in the spring. The event will be held on May 9, 2015. The City website will have more information available closer to
the event date. Each year the event draws children, families and retirees who are interested in bird preservation and learning more
about healthy bird habitat.
CITY PARK CAMPGROUND
Overnight camping is available in sites designated within areas west of the park pavilion for $20.00 per night. Some sites offer electrical
hookups. Showers and flush toilets are also available. There is a drop box for your camping fee that will be collected each day by a
caregiver.
COMMUNITY CALENDAR EVENTS
BOTANICALLY DYED SILK SCARVES
The class is at 5 PM, in the Marinette Middle School Art Room. Enrollment is limited to the first 30 adult participants who have
registered and paid the course fee of $15. The course includes instruction by Deb Doubek. Each participant will leave with a silk scarf

GERIATRIC MENTAL HEALTH SEMINAR
On April 10, 2015 from 9 AM to 4 PM at UW-Marinette. Participants will receive an overview of key issues in geriatric mental health.
Seminar focuses on screening and treatment of depression and anxiety disorders in the elderly. Health care providers, social and case
workers, long-term caregivers, home care workers, family members and friends involved in geriatric care and anyone with an interest in
the topic are invited. Fee is $25.

MENOMINEE RIVER CENTURY BIKE RIDE
Each year, Bay Area Medical Center organized the bike ride. All money raised will support local cancer screenings and patient
programs. Registration is June 27, 2015 from 3 PM - 6 PM and June 28, 2015 7AM - 10 AM. The race will start at Marinette High
