Adult and junior entries will be judged separately.
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
All entries must be grown, selected and arranged by
exhibitor except wild flowers and flowers in arrangements
and unless otherwise stated.
Exhibitors are requested to restore and freshen exhibits.
The committee reserves the right to reject any entry.
Prizes will be awarded at the discretion of the judges.
Do not use an expensive container. The Fair is not
responsible for loss of items. Containers will be provided
for the Garden Flowers category C1 - C24 only.
Separate classes for juniors and adults unless otherwise
noted. Check the appropriate class on entry form.
Potted plants must have been owned by the exhibitor for
six weeks prior to the Fair.
Collect blooms in their prime. Do not include buds, seed
pods, artificial material or any evidence of insects,
disease or spray injury. Prior to entry, place plant material
in a cool place, out of drafts in deep water for a few hours.
Water conditioners may be used.
Horticulture will present two awards, each with a $10 prize:
Excellence in Horticulture - 1 adult, 1 junior , chosen by
the judge on 8/21
Popular Choice - 1 adult, 1 junior, voted on by fair goers.

1. For display, decoration, and educational purposes.
2. Exhibitors are eligible for ribbons and prize money.
3. Fresh, dried or rooted plants & accessories allowed.
4. Some maintenance (watering) will be provided.
5. Judged on conforming to theme.

PHOTOGRAPHY
2015 Massachusetts Fair Agricultural Fair Association Photography Competition
The Massachusetts Agricultural Fair Association(MAFA) is hosting a statewide photography contest this year. The
first place winner from each member fair will be judged at the annual MAFA convention in November. The winning
photos will be featured in one or more MAFA and MDAR publications. The winning photographers will receive
special recognition and passes to many Massachusetts Fairs.
1. The photo will be exhibited in a MAFA member’s 2015 Fair by a non-professional adult and/or jr. exhibitor
2. The subject must be agricultural in nature and/or depicting the agricultural aspect of a Massachusetts Fair.
3, The photo must be exhibited and judged to be the best overall photo meeting the subject criteria for this contest at the
originating member fair.
4. Though photos may be exhibited at the fair in a certain size, frame etc. only an 8x10 un-matted, unframed photo will be judged at
the convention.
5. The winning photograph will be reproduced with the best quality if it is taken with a minimum of 300 dpi but that is not a
requirement for submission.
6. MAFA and MDAR have the right to use the winning photograph in publications promoting agriculture in the state of MA.
